I have been told that Celeste Hill has taken an Asst job at her alma mater, Old Dominion. Any truth about this from the Holmes faithful??

I think Allison Long will give everyone a run for their money for POY. She is very smooth and can score at will. I would like to see all these fine athletes mentioned play a little more "in your face" DEFENSE! I will say it is a three horse race w/Jackson, Long and Bradley as they are Sr's to be. Sandfoss and Allen will have to wait a yr to battle it out.

If I were a coach, I would at least give the stats to the A.D. and let him/her call them in. W/football and basketball, each school has a password and someone, usually an asst, imputs the info. It is very easy to do as long as someone keeps up w/it.

I think all the Class A schools would disagree w/you on this. As stated, LCA won the State a few yrs ago and Beechwood was beat in the finals a couple yrs ago. I would guess if you researched it there have been a few Class A schools win the baseball championship. Is there a problem w/the Class A schools winning a championship? I am guessing you are a Raceland fan, would you say you were state champions if they won the All A? I would bet you would.

Loose as a goose. The HC job was published in the Enquirer not just on BGP and he has been on ICN-6 for an interview. This was old news, so sorry if some don't watch the news. There are other ways to get info besides this website.

These rings are not given out by the KHSAA, it is up to each individual school.

Believe it or not, HJ, I have to agree w/the bold. NKY is always left out when it comes to all state voting and that is in every sport. I can say I have seen all but one of the first team players and I don't think any of the NKY kids can break that list. However, only seeing 3 of the second team players I would think we could get one player on the second team or at least Hon Mention. As I said before, all star teams and all state lists are a joke. There will always be someone left out in someone's eyes. This is part of athletics, altough it is sad but it will never change. Think about it, the Jones girl from S Oldham doesn't get mentioned but I believe she makes the KY/IN All Star team, go figure. She is one of the best pure shooters I have seen.

Will Cheesman be at WV next yr?

How neat would it be to have the all region team's (Sr's) play against each other in a 2/3day event.

Believe it! There are not others that have left to play soccer, others have left for other sports, basketball, softball and golf but only 2 for soccer (both to NDA). I will bet that Beechwood will play a JV schedule next season!

You take a kid from any other sport, that has never played soccer or has played only rec soccer, and put that kid in a serious soccer game; that kid will fall flat on his or her face on the soccer field and look very silly doing it. In my opinion, it would be much easier to take a soccer player and turn him into a decent receiver or defensive back than it would be to take a receiver or DB and make him into a decent soccer player. I wasn't saying that I said what is quoted, what I meant was that I have heard people make this comment. As for you comment about taking the football player and playing soccer and visa versa, I guarantee you take a skilled position football player and put them on a soccer field, they would not fall on their face.

Just curious, who from the 8/10th won a state title and when? The 9th in girls has never won a state title.

If there was enough interest in the high school then why haven't those girls gone to the A.D or Principal and say, we want soccer. At the last soccer mtg, the Pro soccer group had T-shirts made w/soccer on them and the speaker had them stand. Out of the 30 or so kids there only ONE girl was in high school. The majority of the interest comes from the elementary parents, not the high school parents. Soccer is a great thing, 11 kids can play at once but numbers is a must for a successful program and BHS will see those numbers w/their two week camp. Here is a question/comment I hear all the time. "I can take a basketball, baseball/softball, volleyball and football player and they can play soccer, but can I take a soccer player and have them play any of the before mentioned?" Just a question. You don't see many soccer players playing another sport unless the football teams get one to do the kicking in which they are usually the best in the area.

J'town to answer both. He also won the three pt contest and the head coach won the KY STATE CHAMPIONSHIP last yr. I have been told that this game has more players playing in college and in the NBA than the KY/IN all star game and also the North/South game played in OH. Anyone know this for a fact? Highlighted: nothing at all wrong w/this IMO. Obviously, if anyone of you were there at these games know and realize that these teams may not be the top 15 players from each state but each player is an ALL STAR in their own right in one way or another. It is tremendously hard to gather all the best at one time(except McDonald game and then I am sure there are some of us who know of a few better playes than what is on TV:thumb:) due to other committments but let's not put down any of these fine athletes for coming and competing.

OK, I read it again! I take this to mean the coach you refer to is outside the 9th region, so it has to be Pat Summit.:laugh:
