Somerset paid a steep price in pitching in their win over Mercer....so I'll go with West. Two super good teams who resemble each other in many ways. I think pitching will be the difference.

I agree with both your points. This is an OBVIOUS lack of class and parenting, and was disgusting to watch on the field. However.....if just one of the bench coaches handles the helmet throwing....then there would have been no umpire involvement at all and subsequently, no cussing out of an umpire and walking onto the field to give the old one finger salute. Overall....just pretty sad to watch and a black eye on a great program.

Yes Witten was on the mound. Mercer scattered 9 hits to score their three. Hats off to Witten, he's a class young man.

Although there will always be fans of certain teams / regions that disagree with ALL rankings.....if you have faith in your criteria and plug in the numbers, IT IS WHAT IT IS. Keep it going next year!!

Whether you agree with his criteria or not......he plugs in the numbers and posts the results, so it is indeed based upon a formula. As opposed to a coaches poll, which is opinion based. While I don't agree with a few of Dirty Cleats results....it is still overall the most accurate rankings I have seen this year. And that is MY opinion.....

Not only impressive but reflective of THIS SEASONS performances. I like polls based on research and not so much on opinion. My only question would be Ballard.....I think they are a better team than that. Personally I would place Ballard in the top 10 in rankings. Or I would love to know what exactly in your criteria places them so low. Great Poll!

I believe in a compromise for a 12 yr. old wanting to throw a breaking ball. Grab a seam just as you were going to throw a curve ball, but instead of snapping it off....simply have your thumb and middle finger at 9 o clock and 3 o clock respectively at the point of release. It's more of a football release. If thrown properly.....it breaks just enough to qualify as a decent curve ball (It's really more of a slider..) and saves the elbow of youngsters. My 2 cents...

Hands down.....Mercer County High School (Amos Black Field). Why you can stand in deep centerfield and look down (about 15 feet) at all the baseball action unfolding below you!!

It was cold....but Mercer Co. got both of their scrimmages in Friday and Saturday afternoons.

King Middle School feeds Mercer County. Their record over the past 5 years is ridiculous...(someone can follow up with exact numbers) Their Little League is top notch, and Morse Mustangs is the travel team for most age groups. Not bad for a small area.
