Villa T Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Not too sure about Eastern being # 3 and PRP #5, but those Lexington teams rule. Fern Creek is living a dream. Will be interesting in about 2 weeks.
Gumbo Daddy Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 I would have to say that Tates Creek should be rated higher than Henry Clay, TC has beaten them twice this year.
bobbyearl Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Boyd Co. #4 nice to see some luv outside of Lex. & Lou. Boyd Co. top 2 pitchers have only loss 1 time between them a 7-3 loss to Lex. Cath. at Harrison Co.:thumb:
Hit and Run Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 WOW Beechwood goes from #7 to outside the top 50, They have 20 wins, I know they have lost 4 of the last 6 but 2 of the losses came from teams in the top 25 of this ranking and another loss was to team who is undefeated in the 6th region ( I Think) They have played a very difficult schedule, 20 wins this season with only 1 senior and 1 returning starter from last season is pretty impressive. Great Job Tigers.
joedirt Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Like it!! No poll is perfect, but at least this one is not opinion based.

I know he lists his criteria, but I don't think he inputs this into a computer and it spits back out the rankings. This isn't an RPI or Sagarin type poll.

Whether you agree with his criteria or not......he plugs in the numbers and posts the results, so it is indeed based upon a formula. As opposed to a coaches poll, which is opinion based. While I don't agree with a few of Dirty Cleats results....it is still overall the most accurate rankings I have seen this year. And that is MY opinion.....
dirtycleats Posted May 18, 2007 Author Posted May 18, 2007 Aren't all non-formulatic polls opinion based? I know he lists his criteria, but I don't think he inputs this into a computer and it spits back out the rankings. This isn't an RPI or Sagarin type poll. Actually I do input the data into a computer. The formula ranks each regions power ranking, each districts power ranking, and each teams ranking. I do have a few holes in the system, and the few holes are probably apparent as to which teams may be a bit over rated or under rated. The trick is where to put the weight of the scale,,team, district, or regional record. There is a few teams that have a powerful schedule like Lexington Christian Academy, but have lost to many of those powerful teams and have also lost to teams they should have beaten. So the system ranks them much lower than the coaches poll. I would tend to go with this poll over the coaches poll having them ranked in the top 10 all year long.
STRIKE3 Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 I like it as well. I know this takes considerable time and thank you.
