CovCath 3 Ryle 0
Walk, flare in front of Stein in left (not down 3rd), hard ball over 2nd, flare in front of Darner in right. I'll give you one hard hit ball.

I agree with you 100% OG, except the got hit hard part in the regional finals. I remember a lead off walk and some seeing eye singles, mostly opposite field.

How about you list the Bluebird wins over Ohio teams big boy.

CovCath to play in 2008 Herbstreit Challenge!
Once again everyone. Not making excuses for the losses. They could have won some of those games against the GCL schools and did not. Just saying they competed and not way over their heads. Just saying games like that make you better for Kentucky post season. The case could be made the that the loss last year to Louisville St. X, a game they also competed in and deserved to lose, helped them beat Dixie in the playoffs.

Not about making the case about beating them. Highlands resume is just as bad. It's about competing and not beating them and I have done that. You said they should drop Elder and I said most years they compete. I made my point and you conveniently made it about winning to sway the argument to your side. Please stay on point.

Holmes 57 LexCath 50
19-4 and down 6 at half.

Arrez Henderson
Shuting down has nothing to do with rebounds, it's creating off the dribble and getting open. I was there. Arez could not shake him. He was 3 for 7 and it was painful to watch him create off the dribble with Tribble guarding him. His patented spin move with a finger roll layup did not happen one time today. If Tribble could do that to him, what could a D1 guard do. No one recruits a player for just defense at that level. He's DII all the way.

Arrez Henderson
Because Tribble shut him down today.

Some observations from Section 232. Holmes looked like they had never seen a press before, and for the most part, they have not. When it was 23-6, I was thinking waste of time and money. Then my player of the game #11 Avery, hit two free throws and then a three, 23-11. It completely changed the mo to the dawgs. They chipped away and chipped away the way a great team does. There's something going on here with this team that is hard to explain and harder to beat. If you were to tell me that they were going to turn the ball over 22 times, miss 15 free throws and Arez and Ricardo would be 4 for 12 from the field combined and Arez would be 4 for 11 from the line and Ricardo would have 5 TO's and I say BLOWOUT city Catholic. Pittman the most improved player in the state is carrying this team and the tropy back to the 9th region. Heck, there isn't even one in the 9th region any more. One last thing, when the horn sounds tonight and the Bulldogs are holding that trophy high over their heads and everyone associated with this year's team has a chance to touch it, hug it and kiss it, the first person I hand it to if I'm coach John Whimzie is my good friend Mr. Dickey Beal as that ritual was stolen from him 30 years ago as the only three people in the gym that did not see the goal tending just happened to be wearing stripes. Dickey Beal should have been the original hero of the first ever 9th region champion.

Would just love to make a point without the Birds fans coming out swinging. Tough scheduling gets talent ready for post season. Tough scheduling with lack of talent gets you ready for the physical therapy with the trainers. The best thing about CovCath winning once in a while is you get a year off from comments like this one.

Good one.

Let me be more clear. Those games prepared them in 2006 to be Bird Beaters, not world beaters.

You could not be more right that Brossart needs to scale down the schedule to match the talent coming up. You could not be more wrong that it was too strong in the past. They were a holding call away from beating Moeller at PBS. They were a fumble on the 5 from beating Elder at Nippert. They were a storm and 25 MPH winds away from beating St. X at their place. They were also a couple of special teams gaffs from maybe beating St. X at CovCath. I also believe they lost 21-15 at St. X about 4 years ago. Those games prepared them for their 2006 title.

Holmes 64 Bardstown 44
I think they are the best chance in a long, long time for the trophy to reside back in the 9th region. I'd say the favorite right now is LexCath and heck, CovCath beat them.

Holmes 64 Bardstown 44
I don't care if they were layups of their toes were on the line. They had better shoot better against Paintsville or they will lose. They are a good team and put up A LOT of points.
-
Holmes 64 Bardstown 44
They were 23-52 from two and 12-22 from the line and 2-6 from three.

Holmes 64 Bardstown 44
Holmes won't beat Paintsville if they miss 29 two pointers like they did tonight. Horrible from the line as well.

CovCath 63 St. Henry 44
Ryle 53 CovCath 49 in 2002 finals. Justin Doellman's senior year. Also, Highlands 58 CovCath 37 in 1999 with Derrick Smith and Jarred Lorenzen.

St. Henry vs Cov Cath
I 100% agree. Hey B-Ball-Fan, I mean Mork, it's time to call Orson and report back to the mother ship. Nanu, Nanu!

Holmes v Dixie Heights (9th region semi's)
I wonder if they had ever entertained the idea of charging a huge fee for both games which will keep you in the gym between games, but the diehards don't have to wait. I'd pay $20.

Highlands v Covcath (9th region 1st round)
No, but lately Shover is. Lately means since Bondick is back.
-
Highlands v Covcath (9th region 1st round)
Wow!!!! You beat me to that punch! That's funny.

Highlands v Covcath (9th region 1st round)
No response; which is what I thought.
