I find this highly unlikely:rolleyes: The rulebook clearly states that the Champion is determined by regular season play and I see nothing in your link to prove otherwise. I've sent an email to KHSAA for clarification and I will post the response. See District Champion on page 65 of the 2006-2007 rulebook. Absolutely correct on that score:ylsuper: ……most likely you were a little busy on the field but I was on the sidelines and saw the 47 yard kick bounce off the cross bar and fall over for 3 points. It was the first time I ever saw “Mooch" cry:cry: …...he like you and the rest of us left it all on the field. Russell had some good players that year, I remember a halfback named Hickman was pretty tough.

Thanks for the props cvillecat, our class just followed the leaders before us; like you and your brother. On a trip back to Kentucky, about 6 years after the infamous kick, I went bass fishin’ and turtle juggin’ with Clyde. We were right civil with each other. :argue: Due to the hype, a Raceland vs. Russell football game will increase the interest in both football programs and generate lots of cash for both schools (I’m sure the stadiums will be filled to capacity). I believe the Russell game will help the Rams become more competitive with dominate single “A” schools like Beechwood. From what I understand, the up and coming classes at Raceland have been competitive with Russell in the JV and JFL programs. Even though Raceland graduates a lot of talent this year, Russell will have their hands full come game time next year. If the series works out maybe a traveling trophy is in order. Sorta like the apple barrel at Paintsville/Johnson Central. Lots of railroad heritage at both schools....trophy could be something as simple as a lantern, hardhat, crosstie, ect. Does any of the old Russell/Raceland remember the Apache restuarant? Back in the day, it was a hangout for players from both schools...It used to get a little dicey there after we BTD :fire: .

Can we have a Ram on the scoreboard with fire shooting out it's nose:flame:
