Times must be tough financially in Union I don't know how you could ask for a better reffed game from 2, though, so maybe it was a good decision.

Good crowd for a Monday night. Upper seating was opened. Both student sections were engaged. An entertaining battle, lots of emotion and excellent play on both sides. Raiders are showing signs of coming to life offensively in spurts the last 2 games and have the ability to surprise people the rest of the year. Boone is very solid, deserves to be ranked #2 locally. The Rebs had to hang on for their lives to beat a determined Ryle club. Refs did a darned good job cause you are always gonna have missed calls both ways.

Great game last night and impressive comeback that fell a little short for Ryle. Boone shot well for most of the game and Ryle got red-hot in the 4th quarter. I think that Conner was the #4 seed the past 2 years and has advanced to the region. As to this year, Boone has proven to be the best team in the district during the year, even though they lost to St. H, and now faces Conner for a 4th time on the Cougars home court. Could be interesting based on Conner's past tournament performances. Ryle and St. Henry both benefit by not drawing Boone first and letting Conner have a chance to bite them on their home court with noone expecting them to win. The district games have been very close during the regular season and I would not expect any different during the tourney. If they are any thing like last year's opening round games, they will be very exciting.

Raiders will definitely not be lacking on the d-line, but they lost a lot on the o-line. There are a lot of returning starters for Ryle on the defensive side, especially up front. #7-Brzinski will be one of the best around. Sounds good to have an O coordinator after rather predictable play-calling the past few years.

Coach Henley deserves a lot of positive press. The Dawgs can relax and take it easy with the Raiders coming to Covington next. I certainly pull for Holmes every game except when they play the Union boys.

GRC will have their hands full on the road with Dixie and am sure they are not going in expecting to have "no trouble". I expect a very good and close game that could go either way. Worth the trip for people from Clark Co.

Good road win, Raiders. They play good enough defense to win a lot of games. Hopefully, this is the start of some good O. You just ain't gonna beat good teams averaging in the 40's. Good tests in the next few weeks and good luck to the Raiders.

I'm not sure what this comment is all about and I totally disagree with this cheap shot at Ryle. Ryle has had a LOT of sports success in baseball, soccer, football, softball, golf and wrestling, especially over the past few years - probably more combined success in various sports than any other NKY school during that time period. Teams that do not perform under pressure do not advance to appearances in state tournaments. How about Ryle's clutch comeback win vs. CovCath in baseball in 2007 erasing a 3-run lead in the bottom of the last inning with the region title on the line. A lot of these guys were multi-sport athletes who represent the character that a lot of the Ryle students have. Ryle's basketball program is in good hands with Alan Mullins.

CC is well-coached - tribute to Listerman, but Listerman's antics definitely influence calls in their favor. Personally, I do not like his unsportsmanlike behavior, nor the unsportsmanlike behavior so many coaches use just to try to influence the outcome (I would send my girls to their rooms for acting in such a childish way) such as stepping out onto the floor and out of the box to argue during tight games. He certainly deserved at least one T tonight. The refs just seem to give him a pass. However, Ryle had every chance to win the game and did not finish. Credit the CovCath players for coming from behind.

Extremely well stated. I have no idea where The old guy is coming from. Totally off base analysis of a fine h.s. basketball game. Both teams play hard-nosed defense. My only question: Where was the blowout?? Ryle actually controlled a majority of the game and will be fine as they learn to finish. Congrats to CovCath on a hard fought win.

I'll be shocked if this is a blowout. Raiders play rock solid D. Good luck Raiders.

Man, all X fans will be right there with you. Some losses are more agonizing than others. This will be one of them. But, X will be back up there competing for the state title next year. What an improbable win by T! Kinda like the N.E. Patriots of KY h.s. football. Figure out a way to win.

Coach G will surely get second guessed for not kicking the FG. But, seems like there were a heck of lot more good play calls than bad. Certainly a most bitter loss for X. Two great teams for sure. Congrats again to the Rocks.
