Great game. Great atmosphere. Boone was up by 16 or 18 going into the 4th quarter and Ryle put on a furious rally to draw within one late in the game. Boone shot lights out tonight. They just have so many offensive options. Cotton had a great rebounding game. But Ryle acquitted themselves very nicely also. Coleman was huge late, as was Helmers, and McLeish started out on fire. It would have been real interesting if Ryle hadn't shot so horrifically from the free throw line in the first half. Overall, a truly fun high school game to watch.

This district (I can't quite remember what the number is, 33rd or something) is always unpredictable. Not surprised Boone won this but these teams always keep each other close.

With this win, Congrats to my Crusaders who are now the #1 seed in the 33rd district tournament.

To me, it really does not matter who is seeded one through four in this district. Whoever is playing the best at this time and executes their game plan is going to the region. I see no clear cut favorite.

Totally agree. I don't believe the #1 seed went to the best team but that's the way it panned out. The tournament should be very exciting.

Very exciting game. Ryle never gave-up and Boone was able to hold on. I was surprised that there was only a 2 man officiating crew. I thought they did a good job. Would have thought that this rivalry would have had a 3 man crew. I guess Ryle didn't want it.

I thought Boone tried to let the air out of the ball way to early (7 minutes). IMO, they should have continued to attack the basket.

This is where your wrong. Put yourself in Ryle, Conner, or St. Henry's shoes. Do you think they would want to play each other this year in the first round or play Boone. Boone is scary good and on any given night can beat the Holmes', CovCaths, and Highlands of the 9th Region.

 

So with that point made, by St. Henry winning the district it doesn't promise anything or guarentee a Regional game, but it does look better than playing one of the better teams in the area.

Great game last night and impressive comeback that fell a little short for Ryle. Boone shot well for most of the game and Ryle got red-hot in the 4th quarter. I think that Conner was the #4 seed the past 2 years and has advanced to the region. As to this year, Boone has proven to be the best team in the district during the year, even though they lost to St. H, and now faces Conner for a 4th time on the Cougars home court. Could be interesting based on Conner's past tournament performances. Ryle and St. Henry both benefit by not drawing Boone first and letting Conner have a chance to bite them on their home court with noone expecting them to win. The district games have been very close during the regular season and I would not expect any different during the tourney. If they are any thing like last year's opening round games, they will be very exciting.

If Boone can get their defense to be better they can compete for the Region. Giving up 63 last night makes me worry about their chances.

Good crowd for a Monday night. Upper seating was opened. Both student sections were engaged. An entertaining battle, lots of emotion and excellent play on both sides. Raiders are showing signs of coming to life offensively in spurts the last 2 games and have the ability to surprise people the rest of the year. Boone is very solid, deserves to be ranked #2 locally. The Rebs had to hang on for their lives to beat a determined Ryle club. Refs did a darned good job cause you are always gonna have missed calls both ways.

I don't know how you could ask for a better reffed game from 2, though, so maybe it was a good decision.
