This is where your wrong. Put yourself in Ryle, Conner, or St. Henry's shoes. Do you think they would want to play each other this year in the first round or play Boone. Boone is scary good and on any given night can beat the Holmes', CovCaths, and Highlands of the 9th Region.

 

So with that point made, by St. Henry winning the district it doesn't promise anything or guarentee a Regional game, but it does look better than playing one of the better teams in the area.

Also take into account that 2 teams move on to the regional tournament. Seeding is a very big deal in this district.

If Boone can get their defense to be better they can compete for the Region. Giving up 63 last night makes me worry about their chances.

 

 

I thought their defense looked fairly solid overall, but struggled in the 4th quarter. As much as anything, this had to do with Ryle's fullcourt press, which was very effective and generated some quick transition buckets.

 

Another thing about this game this impressed me was that despite being a pretty physical game a times, there was nothing over the line or unsportsmanlike at all. To the contrary, there was quite a bit of good sportsmanship shown by both teams.

Another good win for Boone. Keep it up! Finish the year strong.

It was a great night for all three Rebel teams. Freshman boys battled a questionable ref crew to hold off in overtime, JV came out in the second half and found the scorers to get ahead and win, and Varsity capped the night off with getting an impressive lead and maintaining composure to hold off a stubborn Ryle team. Over all, it was great to see the 3 game sweep for Rebel basketball.

Very exciting game. Ryle never gave-up and Boone was able to hold on. I was surprised that there was only a 2 man officiating crew. I thought they did a good job. Would have thought that this rivalry would have had a 3 man crew. I guess Ryle didn't want it.

 

Officials are assigned by Tom Haas. I am sue Ryle would like three man crew every game, but I would guess they do not have enough officials to go around for every game.
