Good all around game for the Chargers tonight as they controlled the ball from the opening kickoff. Not sure what the total stats were but TOP had to be 2 to 1 in favor of the chargers. DeSales looked better than a 5-5 team from a year ago .. looked big, talented but very young and painfully slow.
-
DeSales is getting great experience in their first two games. We've got Manual and Central still on the schedule add in Woodford County and DeSales and I think our schedule will benefit us in the long run. I do believe an 0-2 start will hurt us more than it will hurt DeSales.

Used to know a kid who went to DeSales so I rooted for them for a while. Tough on the kids not having a real home field. Bleachers on the visiting side are pretty decent. I'll keep and eye on #74 and hope he has a good game in a losing effort

Figured it was high school smack .. I know he gets down on himself if he gets stopped in the first quarter but would have been surprised if he had quit. We had a kid out for 4 to 5 games last year with a concussion, hopefully it's not too serious.

What is this I hear about Cissell quitting the team?

Based on the way they played Doss I'll say it will be a close game. I'll go with the Chargers 27-20.

Woodford County vs. Tates Creek (Governor's Bowl)

I don't know anything about Tates Creek but I was impressed with Woodford's QB yesterday so I'll go with Woodford 21-6 -
Both should have bounce back games this week although BE's game is tougher. I would like to see North and BE finish 1-2 in the district since neither of us have two district home games in the regular season.

Atherton winning .. who cares who it was against

Looking forward to seeing DeSales here at Bullitt East next week. Should be a good game!
-
Good game by both teams .. separated by a missed extra point in the end. Momentum changed when for some odd reason we decided to fake a punt on 4th and a mile in our own territory midway through the second quarter up 14. Woodford County scored two plays later. Should have punted the ball.

I don't think the losses by either Bullitt team will hurt them much in the rankings considering Boyle County got bombed also.

Congrats to Atherton on breaking the streak -
I hate to say this because it has been a sore point for time2punt but I've said all along that if you stop Cissell early he gives up on the game .. sounds like another case last night. From what my neighbor told me (who went to the game) it sounded like Reynolds did all he could, furthering my opinion that he, not Cissell, is the star of that team.

Woodford Co. vs. Bullitt East predictions

BE had a similiar situation with one of our top returning players. He is no longer with the team either. -
Well I know one kid who is really fast. He has been timed with a stop watch around 4.4 to 4.5 on several occasions. Does real well in track and is generally the fastest player on his team. When timed with a computer run by a legit college combine he ran 4.61. When he told the scout he couldn't believe he ran so slow the scout told him that translates into a 4.3 in High School speak. If your kid or a player on your team is running 4.4 on a stop watch then it's likely around a 4.6 in real terms. That is still really fast. The 40 time IMO is sort of like height and weight in high-school and college programs. It is in the general ball-park but never accurate. My guess is there are 1 maybe 2 kids in the state that play football that run a legit computer timed 4.4. No matter how many people claim proof or they were timed by a computer, it is still probably around 1 or 2. I'm close to 6'2" on a good day and my highschool basketball program always listed me at 6'3"

Which 1 or 2 teams benefit most from the realignment in 2007?
mh2365 replied to jbwill2's topic in KY Football (High School)
Louisville Holy Cross for sure ... simply because there is no more Danville. I disagree with Central. They do have it easier but they have always been a preseason Top 10 so the OP saying that it is unusual for them to be a preseason favorite is a stretch. Central and Bullitt East were always favorites in their district. Bullitt East and North Bullitt both got favorable realignments in the fact that their side of the 4A bracket is nowhere near as strong as the other. As far as who got screwed the most I think you have to look no further than Bullitt Central.
