LexCath's Great Year
Oh please guys, quit tryin to steal their thunder by bringing up these petty subjects. These boys had a great season and capped it off with a victory over my old school. Im not the least bit bitter in any sense and i dont think any of you all should be either. Great season to both teams

Beechwood/LexCath Predictions
This is true, they do have a solid lineup.. but what about Cath's potent lineup to counter? 1-9 they are very good. and With Fahs left to pitch and their two righties that bring it 83-86 in relief, Ill have to take them to win it. Beechwood may have a good lineup to, but with Curley used up i just dont see their staff holding Cath to fewer runs than them scoring off fahs

Beechwood/LexCath Predictions
WHo does Beechwood have left to pitch? If they still have a good pitcher left it could be a close game but with Cath's number 2 pitcher still left, fahs, backed up with their two righties, they will be tough to handle. ill take Catholic 7-3

Mr. Baseball 06
Traditionally this award goes to the most dominant pitcher and in that case i would have to say Adcock, despite the beating PRP laid on him. My other pick would be Witten for Danville. There's just no denying his numbers pitching or hitting. I believe he went 13-1, 1.30 ERA pitching and hit .607 with 66 RBI's and 25 homeruns. That is simply amazing

Lex Cath 9 Danville 6
Hard fought game. LC goes 2-0 and is headed for Applebee's Park.
-
Lexington Catholic 11 Danville 5
LC pitched their number 3 pitcher, their second basemen. Threw somewhat hard clocked at 85 but wasnt enough for Danville's bats in the first and second innings. Durham hit a three-run bomb in the first. LC's bats came to life however in the remaining innings eventually putting up 11 runs. Witten was not on top of his game tonight and LC has their number 1 and 2 pitchers left. Should be interesting.

Danville vs. Lexington Catholic (Semi-state #6)
I think if LC can pull off a victory in the first game it will be tough to stop them form winning 1 of 2 more. Witten throws with a high velocity, however, LC has faced upper 80's all year and i dont think squeking 2 or 3 runs off will be much of a problem. This is a very good matchup though.

(Just sharing)Newark Catholic wins D-4 State title
Sorry about my earlier post about not caring. Just getting so caught up in our state's title that I didnt really appreciate how good that team must be. Great comeback by the way:D

Powell Co vs South Laurel (Semi-state #7)
Powell's defense should not be a problem. However, their bats NEED to stay hot in order to take the series from South Laurel. I think both teams pitching is evenly matched but the edge goes to South Laurel in the offensive department.

Danville vs. Lexington Catholic (Semi-state #6)
Im going to say that LC takes this one in 3. They will have a tough game against Witten but i think their offense and pitching will eventually prevail. Any other predictions?

Indeed, would bring back the old days.

11th Region pairings
  Obviously nWo had no clue about the teams in this region if he puts Henry Clay in front of Lexington Catholic and Woodford Co. behind Southern and Scott. Maybe They should do a little research before posting rankings like this.

Male/PRP/Lex.Catholic
I agree, Boyd County is a quality team. I didn't have them as one of my top 3 but after tonights St. X victory over Male they may have slid into that 3rd spot. All of those teams are solid, however, and can play with anyone in the state. Wouldn't mind seeing these three teams with State Tournament berths!
-
St X 3 Male 1
Wow, very suprising. I had Male as a top three team to beat in the state. Guess I was wrong! Good job Tigers, and good luck!
-
Powell Co vs South Laurel (Semi-state #7)
I think South Laurel will sweep the series in two games. Powell Co. is scrappy but i think So. Laurel has the better squad. Good luck to both!

Male/PRP/Lex.Catholic
In my opinion these are the three teams to beat. I've seen them all play and Male is on one of the best streaks this state has seen in a while. It seems they win every game they play, no matter who it is. Catholic is on a hot streak as of late and their staff is pretty deep with 2 lefties and a couple good righties. Defense is their strong point with a fast OF and one of the quickest middle duos I've ever seen. Their first basemen is also very solid and can scoop anything. PRP is very solid all around and are capable of beating anyone. They have a potent offense but also a staff to compliment them. These teams all have a bulls-eye on them and people will be gunning for them. Good luck to all these teams. I rank them 1. PRP 2. Male 3. Cath

Powell Co vs South Laurel (Semi-state #7)
Thanks. Well good luck to both teams, both are pretty solid. I might have to make the trip to see a game or two.

Powell Co vs South Laurel (Semi-state #7)
Who does Powell play in sectionals? Whoever it is they will have their hands full with a scrappy bunch of boys from Powell. Should be fun.

12th Region Championship: Danville vs. Somerset
I agree with shs. Saw their game earlier this season and Somerset's defense was a little suspect. If they clean up their act then I say Somerset 6-5. Both are very solid teams however, and could go either way.

11th Region pairings
Catholic wins 4-1. Heard Dunbar threw ace Casey Lucasey at them but he was not enough to keep LCHS from scoring 2 more runs. Should be a interesting sectional tournament if Danville wins tonight.
