LC pitched their number 3 pitcher, their second basemen. Threw somewhat hard clocked at 85 but wasnt enough for Danville's bats in the first and second innings. Durham hit a three-run bomb in the first. LC's bats came to life however in the remaining innings eventually putting up 11 runs. Witten was not on top of his game tonight and LC has their number 1 and 2 pitchers left. Should be interesting.

In light of that, I don't see any possible way it could be interesting. Danville's in big trouble unless they get some career performances from the rest of their pitching staff, and I still don't think that'll be enough.

Danville picked bad time to play their worst game of the year. They sure looked very nervous. Danville made seven errors, leading to a bunch of unerned runs.

Grimes may fare better against Catholics bats than Witten; Witten throws hard, but it's straight, straight, straight. Grimes has a little better off speed stuff.

 

However, if Danville doesn't catch the ball any better than they did last night, they may get ten-runned...

 

With their #'s 1 and 2 left, Catholic is in great shape. Maronde pitched to one hitter last night (Witten, and jammed him up badly), so he should be fine tonight.

Fahs threw two inninngs, while Maronde threw to just one batter. Leads me to believe that Maronde will be the starting pitcher tonight. They used 4 pitchers last night and I heard there is another lefty that LC has as well. Maybe he gets the start tonight and Maronde and Fahs will be working in relief again.

I don't have the official scorer's numbers, but I would say only 3 or 4 of the LC runs were earned. The game was very close regardless of what the score may look like. A 2-run homer in the 6th to push the LC lead to 8-5, then three more runs off White who came in to relieve Witten (all of which where unearned I believe). Ads were in the game until then. The 2-run homerun seemed to deflate them.
