  1. 12-yd TD pass for Mayfield. 35-7 McCracken
  2. It’s been hard to watch. And I don’t ever say that about Mayfield games. Jax Rodgers, one of Mayfields best defenders, in a soft cast. Appears to be his knee.
  3. That’s a good question. Defense has only given up one touchdown. But offense has been atrocious. Also have a missed field goal, and two punts that barely went 10 yards, and another that the punter couldn’t handle and just fell on it. Which McCracken just turned into another score. Bradley for McCracken with a rushing TD. 35-0 McCracken
  4. Mayfield fumbles on ensuing possession, McCracken scoops and scores... 28-0 MCracken
  5. Another poor pass by Mayfield QB behind his receiver, bounces off Mayfield Player into McCracken DB’s arms....pick six. 21-0 McCracken
  6. McCracken has held field position the entire first half. Mayfield just missed a field goal with 1:50 left in the half.
  7. Mayfield has a good group coming back on defense that should keep them competitive in every game this season, but they replace 4 of 5 starting offensive lineman I believe. I picked Mayfield in the poll, but realistically I see McCracken by a touchdown.
  8. I agree, its partially lack of talent, but the football culture of losing defintely hurts their roster numbers. They used to be a highly competitive program, but have had only one or two teams since the late 90's that has been competitive. I am gonna tell you basketball and soccer are king at Marshall, with football getting the leftovers.
  9. Definitely a reflection of the confidence Beechwood had/has as a program.
  10. Congrats to Coach Kemp. I think he will do just fine.

  12. I haven't seen as many as others might have. Somerset/Mayfield has been the best. I would say 1995 Mayfield/Beechwood would be second for me. 4th quarter Beechwood scores and goes for 2 point conversion instead of the extra point and a tie. Pretty exciting game.
  13. For me, emotion definitely clouded logic with regards to the PI call. That has happened to everyone on this site at some point or another, so I think we can dispense with the "all Mayfield fans are whiners". If we got beat DECISIVELY and were still on here complaining, there would be absolute merit to that accusation. But given what it came down to, questioning the call is a reaction you would see from any fanbase, not just Mayfield. It didn't matter what the call ended up being (PI or not), there would have been discussion on this site as to the legitimacy of said call, and the result of the game no matter who you were rooting for. And that's what this site is for. As far as Somerset dominating, their pass blocking was great most of the game. And there were drives where their run game stalled, and then other drives where they methodically marched down. Their red zone defense was a difference maker, forcing Mayfield to kick a field goal twice (missing one) and obviously the 4th and 6 stop on Mayfield's last possession. Both teams made critical errors. Somerset recovered well and Mayfield didn't. But numbers don't lie, and this was a photo finish. Winning by the skin of your teeth is the opposite of domination.
  14. It’s obvious this is your first title. Congrats.
  15. Easy to be on the high ground when you win. If that flag wasn’t thrown I don’t think you would be letting it go so easy either. Not to mention I complimented Somerset more in that post than I questioned the call.
  16. The still shot photo being posted doesn’t show that the Somerset player initiated 100% of the contact. For me, that is where I don’t get it. Doesn’t matter now. I will say it was an outstanding game. I thought Somerset played with great sportsmanship (lot of butt and helmet pats, helping opponents up, etc.). They were a fun team to watch and certainly deserving of the title. Congrats to you guys. I’m proud of Mayfield and their perseverance this season. Had some ups and downs. Came up one play short. Wouldn’t trade my alma mater for anyone.
  17. Saw a different angle from another twitter post. Which was still left some doubt about accuracy of call. But this was a better angle. And no, not a good call. Mayfield player goes straight up and Somerset player runs into him. Crappy call. But it is what it is.

  19. Or the refs could let them play ball instead of injecting themselves in the game. Mayfield player played the ball the entire time and Was more aggressive. Also thought Somerset player was tackled inbounds in beginning of that drive and they called him out. Great season by Somerset and congrats. Great game and they never quit.
  20. Hose job on PI. Mayfield guy went for ball the whole time
  21. Any of these mayfield fumbles controversial? Two times the refs huddle and aren’t sure what to call, then announce Somerset ball. Asking because I’m so far away
  22. And yes, Mayfield should feel good being down four points given how that half unfolded.
  23. Very good game. The 4th down touchdown by Somerset was huge. Kade Neely gets hurt. Comes back in. Makes a short catch for two yards. Forward progress was stopped. No whistle, and 3 other defenders come in and get a lick and he hobbles back off. So much for protecting players.
  24. The last two trips to Lexington Mayfield got in the hole early so I don't remember any trick plays. But they also had a two QB rotation and one was a much better runner than the other, and he was in the wildcat a significant amount. So that might be what you are referring to. I'm pumped too. Hoping the Cards win, but also excited to see them play a high caliber team. Somerset is going to be fun to watch.
