Well Apex, looks like the Whitley Coach has earned that coach of the year status...Whitley County is now 16-9 if I'm not mistaken and, still have games to go...

Whitley County freshman lefty Matt Sage pitched for the Colonels with Ted Clifford coming out in the seventh to close the game...Matt Sage did a great job for the Colonels. Whitley County defense was near perfect with only 2 errors. The Colonels hit the ball well. Bell County's #2 ( name unknown ) was on the mound for the bobcats with Spencer Greer making his apperance in the fourth inning.This one was played at Bell County. Great win for the Colonels!

IMO if parents really want to spend spring break with their child then why not load up the ole station wagon and go stay a week where their child is playing ball and support him/her. Plan a vacation in the area your child will be spending his spring break. Im sure your support will be remember far longer than Mickey and his friends at Disney World.

IMO the Lady Jackets are improving with each game and gave the Lady Colonels all they wanted...I think they can play with the Lady Hounds as well as anyone. In the game against Whitley Co I thought they played well until halfway through the third quarter and they began playing tired. If they are well conditioned for the Corbin game then they can give the Lady Hounds a good close game. I have always liked rooting for the under dog so Ill say Williamsburg by 2. Good luck Lady Jackets!

Oh how sad..But, look on the bright side..you should get to do this all over again when the gradkids come.

So is Smiths pitching what SL is depending on this year because, I haven't heard anything about the rest of the team...Its gonna take more than one good arm to win championships, don't you think?

Question.... Had Williamsburg won this game would there still be griping about the officiating? I was at this one and Williamsburg just didn't play as well as the Colonels. We can always blame the officials when we lose, when we should be looking at the poor play and maybe a few bad decisions on the players and coaches. The Burg was just outplayed last night, just that simple.

Oh boy! I take it that Apex hasn't done his homework on the Colonels for 2007.... P- Should be at least 3 deep if not 4 with McCumbers, Rose, and Clifford C- Mark Comparoni like you say should be one of the best we see this year. 1B- Look for the Clifford kid... Young but talented. 2B_ I would say McCumbers or David Rose ... The Rose kid should do Extremely well this year...Young but alot of talent and heart 3-B Bowman I think will keep this spot...Great Athlete SS- Look for David Rose Or McCumbers here...Either will do well... CF- Im like you on this one...Wide Open LF- Look for Benji Campbell here..Played alot here last year and done well..Has been doctoring a broken ankle and if all goes well should be ready by season RF- Another wide open spot...but look for the Powers kid here. I look for the Colonels to shock alot of teams this year and if it only takes 15 games ...Who knows maybe Smith will get that coach of the year status..:thumb:

Coach Smith will have his hands full during the 2007 season..He lost 7 seniors this past year and will be playing with a really young team. I suppose he will get to put those great coaching skills to work...If anybody can do it, I would place my bets on Smith.

I would just like to know where the MountainMutt comments are on this one? Anybody heard from the Mutt?

IMO I didn't think Corbin played as well as they could have..I think both teams had a bad night. Had Corbin been on top of their game the margin could have been much greater.

IMO this kind of talk coming from MtMutt is actually hurting his team. They are a young team with a good amount of talent, they just can't compete as of yet. But, talk like this could make these 60 point favorite teams run the score up on the Colonels thus, hurting their momentum to get better. When a team beats you by 60 or more points your team is down. I appreciate his love for his team but lets leave the stitches and head bashing out of basketball. This will only give his team a bad name for brawling and fighting. Mtmutt lets try to talk a little more positive about what we have this year and commend the team for all their effort. Talking trash only makes other teams want to run up the score and those Whiltey County boys don't need that right now.

Exactly... They sure didn't look good enough or BIG enough to be bashing heads and causing stitches. Maybe the Mutt should re-evaluate his team.
