  1. I just wish the khsaa would sanction them or go to classifications of their own so these tournaments would go away in the middle of the seasons.
  2. Yes. Should absolutely be classified. Why is Kentucky one of only like three state in the entire country that plays high school softball that isn’t classified? Every state bordering us has classifications for softball. From an equality stand point doesn’t seem to far that a school with say 100 students has to compete with a school say 2,500 students for a state championship.
  3. Might be. I haven’t seen that yet that would help but cause another problem between the dist. And the region tournaments. There was two districts in our region that didn’t get done until Friday that week because of weather and two of the teams playing having graduation that week. One of those districts played their district championship game at 2:00 on that Friday afternoon. Doesn’t leave much time for a district draw much less the pitching issues it causes. It will all workout, always does but i think they have created more problems then they have solved.
  4. I don’t see how they are going to get all the post season in the time frame they have scheduled, and to get the region and semi state in before June 5th is not going to give any small school a fighting chance. Region has to start May 27 (Memorial Day) with weather and graduations most regions are not getting done until Friday or Saturday. That means finishing may 31 or June 1. That leaves June 2 which is a Sunday, which some regions where making plans on having to play championship that day. So no semi state starting that day. That leaves you Monday and Tuesday, June 3 and 4 to get semi state in with state tournament starting June 5th. You better have a lot of pitching and definitely will been benifit the bigger school with more depth. Also going to be a shame to not see some of the better pitchers throw at the state tournament because they had to throw in semi state to just get there team there. I don’t like the set up!
  5. Was told they are going to go back to the old format from 10 or so years ago and only take 8 teams to the state tournament and bring that semi state thing back again. So I guess they think it’s good to only have 8 teams at the state tournament instead of 16. Wonder if they’d ever cut the basketball sweet 16 field in half hopefully this isnt true.
  6. Danville played really well the first 3 quarters but didn’t finish strong. I guess thought game was over. Give Wagner credit they didn’t give up.
  7. Great honor for Kade. How is his back? Was told he got hurt in football game a couple weeks ago.
  8. As of now I’d agree Boyle should still be #1 in 3A but I think the gap is closer then some thought. Their schedule is not that strong. If you combine all 10 teams record to this point they are under .500. Besides catholic on their remaining schedule I don’t think anyone can get close to them. Should be an interesting post season as always b
  9. I’ve seen Corbin once in person this year and their other two games on tap. I also saw them twice last year. This is not the same Corbin team as last year. In my opinion a much better team this year. I do t know anything about beachwood this year but they are always good. I’ll take Corbin 28-14
  10. Both teams played hard. Was a good high school game. Both teams will learn from this game and will need to, to make title runs again this year.
  11. Corbin looks better then I thought they would this year. I really like the Estep kid at QB.
  12. Brady Johnson was the running back that scored in JV game. He runs hard! I believe he is a sophomore.
  13. Finished 35-21 southwestern in varsity part. JV ended 6-6.
  14. Varsity part finished 35-21 Southwestern. JV part ended 6-6.
  15. Turned into the KHSAA office and also brought up by the baseball coaches committee and turned down. I personally think the only way it will ever get done is if someone can get a State Rep. from Frankfort to bring it up in Frankfort and it get pushed on to the KHSAA. Think it will have to be brought up as unfair competitive advantage for those schools that have 1,300 boys in grades 9-12 playing schools that have 150 boys in grades 9-12. Someone just needs to find the right State Rep. to take it on.
  16. The last time the coaches preposed it for baseball and softball (that’s what they where told todo) they said it looked good but where scared if they did it for them then basketball would want to classify and they couldn’t have that happen. Resone, because the sweet 16 brings in the majority of the revenue for the khsaa and they are afraid if they changed it they might be cutting their own throats.
  17. It has been done multiple times over the last several years and the KHSAA keeps turning it down.
  18. Would be fine if did it at end of year instead of in middle of season when you have to play possible multiple All A games plus your dist. seeded games in same week.
  19. Look back at the past 30 state champions in baseball and I believe you can’t find more then 2-3 small schools (A or AA in football system) that have won a state championship. That tells me there needs to be classifications.
  20. Coach Hamilton had a great career. Not only a great coach but a great man. Congrats!
  21. Been crazy in the 12th as well. Semifinal are now scheduled for Saturday night and championship on Sunday.
  22. Great coach and man. Did so much not just for PRP baseball but baseball for the entire state. He will definitely be missed.
  23. Good game. Danville was up 4-0 and somerset game back to get the win. Good game with a lot of talent on field for both teams.
