I actually talked to Dixon today and he stated that Cumberland has already offerd a scholarship, he's supposed to meet with Alice Lloyd sometime but not exactly sure what day, and also he's visiting Transy's Program.

I've heard that many school have contacted him and i know a few of them. Alice Lloyd, Cumberland, North Carolina Wesleyan, Berea, and i've even heard the likes of Eastern KY, Western KY, and tubby i heard went to watch him at the Lexington Catholic game a few years back.

Big win for Leslie. My first round picks are now officially torn apart.

I, ofcourse, was at the game....and well - Estill was JBS's best player. Pure and simple. It's the 2nd worst game that I've seen them play all season (the Breathitt one being first.) It was the same team that showed up in Breathitt though. No focus. No energy. When Cackling hit a big three to bring Estill to a 1 point lead over the crusaders - the bench acted as if they were down by 20. Minimal clapping. Dixon played a pretty good game, and Berryman had a good first half shooting wise. Puckett played well again. I thought Reese should have been utilized a lot more than he was. I thought he played a pretty good first quarter and spent too much time on the bench in a close game. Christopher is really going to have to learn to pass the ball more effectivelly. He has great speed and can handle the ball pretty well - so he could be a great dish and assist man to Berryman and Kackling next year - or take it on the hole and draw a foul. I really think Estill dropped the ball by not taking pep busses to the game. I am not sure the exact reason why they didnt but I heard three different stories from three different school officals - but oh well. I really thought the band should have been closer to the court as well. I was on the 2nd row behind the Estill bench and I couldnt hear them from my seat. As far as the fans goes - they were pretty decent. The small group of students who braved the 6 or so hours of driving there and back were into the game - more than the bench thats for sure. JBS's fans for the most part were pretty fair - however, the student section got out of hand. I know that they spit on one of the cheerleaders and their sign, "53rd Champions, 56th Losers" that was taped on the wall should have been removed. I really liked the gym at Knott County, but overall, the planning and seating (of the bands especially) was done extremely poorly. Tate Cox is exceptional - and Stepp is a ball hog. Estill had no transistion defense all game. Christopher took a botched charge on the right wing but that was about it. Dixon should been utilized a lot more inside. He had a guy about 3/4 his size gaurding him down low - but they went with three's and mid range jumpers most of the night...most of which didnt fall. Overall, I wonder if more fan support (which could have happened has thier been a pep bus) helped Estill's pride and enthusiam. If Clinton had been utilized more and Estill set up bettter and less hectic offensive play calling - the outcome would probably have been different. Oh, and the officate was excellent. Great job to those 3 refs. Havent been able to say that much this year.

I don't know Mark Smith from Owsley....thought it was Robert.

If the defense collasped aroudn Hicks - it would suggest that it it opened up a slew of other scorers like Campbell. They will need to play extremely well on the defensive side of the ball if they are going to shut down Lee.

I agree that you have to give it to the winning team. I'm just saying, in my oppinion, Fetters was your MVP on that night.

I agree - there are several who could argue when he's at his best that hes the best player in the tournament.

Sadly - same goes for Estill....but idk, anythings possible. They are going to have to play a lot better than they did against Powell in the district championship game.

I'm going to be interested to see which teams gains the support (if any) of the fans from the nights other game. If fans wants one team over the other and cheer for the team they want in round 2.

We had Cordia here back in Early January for the 82 food mart - and handeled them pretty well. Estill played extremely well that game if memory serves.

:thumb: Dont know about Leslie - but your description of Lee fits the bill. I havent seen them play a terrible game all season.

I would agree. I've always had a deep respect for the way things are ran in Lee County. From the concessions, to the announcer, to just the way the old gym reminds me of home - it was a great place to hold districts.

Wow - an Estill/Leslie final would be pretty interesting....especially given that Estill would have beat Hazard who beat Leslie in district play - and Leslie would have beaten Lee who did the same to Estill. A game - totally not out of the realm of possibility, however.

If that happens, your right, I would be completely shocked.

How will a school with 600 get 2500 fans - when its a private school affiliated school? Recruiting some Alice Lloyd students? haha. If youre counting on Knott County fans to support you - Id be surprised if that happens.

Oh, and I think we may be getting some extra fan support from the Knott County fans as well.

Well I can definately vouch for that. I know that the school has been planning on filling buses with students, and I'm sure there will be quite a bit of carpooling as well. The school is pumped. The county is pumped. And - well I'll just let the band prove themselves.

If you think a home crowd is going to be enough to beat Estill - youre in for a shock.

I'm still very surprised to see them fall to Hazard in a game where Hicks played poorly. I dont see them getting by Lee - a team that is filled with 6-7 big game players.

I've seen that you have said this several times. Look in the prediction thread and fill me in with a why.
