Lee beat Powell as well....earlier last season

Its a pretty big week in the 56th this week. Alot of teams are finally going to get to feel each other out a little bit and see where everyone stands a little better. Powell beats Clay 7 to 1 in the first game for Powell in the Queen City Classic. It took Powell till about the fourth inning to get the bats going scoring 3 runs in that inning. They exploded again for four runs to put the game away in the 7th. Muncie went the distance for the Pirates throwing 120 pitches, striking out 10, walking 1, and allowing 4 hits and 1 run. He pitched out of jam after jam. Great game for the Pirates. :banana:

Was kind of a slow game. Yea I agree Fritz is a great player...a really stand up guy as well.

Powell held East scoreless in the first two innings and in the 3rd a costly error on a sac bunt that was popped up (bad communication) led to a 3 run inning that really broke the gates open for East. Could have been a better game, East Carter is going to have a great season.

just curious of what these two teams looked like tonight..any good talent?

powell will face montgomery later on in the season @ montgomery, i look for them to be more prepared for the next matchup

It will be hard for anyone to get out..especially the owls.

The Indians will improve...they had a rough day in the field and at the plate...looked like they had to shake a little bit of rust off and get into the groove later in the game...powell didnt commit and error in the field.

All of the errors could possibly come from the changes in the playing surface, Pikevilles team is normally playing on the sweet turf that they have lol. I would say they got some hops they arent used to at the college field. When they get back to their old stomping ground they will be fine.

Powell will make a good showing but East Carter and GRC are looking really good, and are the ones that stick out when i look at the schedule

Powell wins in 5 innings with a score of 11-1. Benningfield went the distance going all 5 innings for the Pirates. Good way to start off the season.:dancingpa

The last 2 years powell has been in the championship game..and semifinals the year before that. They will always be there knocking on the door...The only team that i can think of that has been more dominant and IMO is more dominant in the 14th is Hazard. Maybe they were looked over because of the rough year last year.

Yea, as far as i know Durrel is coming back..i havent heard otherwise anyways..but you are a little closer geographically than i am so maybe the word hasnt gotten here yet lol. Sad to hear about the guys that have left over spring break...they are going to miss out on a great season for KCC

To be honest with you I had KCC above them in the 5 spot...but i dont know what made me change it...KCC has a lot of heart, and some talent, maybe im misinformed but they lack depth IMO. Hazard has Olinger coming back which will help and everyone gets another year on them...IMO really Hazard and KCC are pretty even in my mind. I put Estill so high solely on the level of competition that they have played in the past, not familiar at all with any of there players. i agree though KCC will be a sleeper that you dont want to have on your side of the bracket come regional tourney time.

I think that Paintsville will do just fine this year...maybe at the end of the season things will have changed but its preseason..you could throw about 5 different schools up at the top...you just never know
