Great post Bronco:thumb: You are a class act. I agree with everything you posted here. The McCreary coaches have done an amazing job of getting things headed in the right direction down there. A few years ago Southwestern scrimmaged Wayne Co. and they dressed out 35 players. When we played them down there in a JV game they dressed out 33 players. We lost to Wayne that game by two touchdowns but I believe we got better. I would rather lose by two touchdowns and get better than to win by 50 points and not get challenged. I talked to Wayne Countys coach after the game and basically he said that he played a lot of his varsity players because he got more out of playing our JV ,than having them practice against his second team. He used his JV schedule to improve his varsity. I dont have any problems at all with that.

Southwestern at Pulaski in 1999. That field was pretty muddy. Actually it was really muddy considering that it hadn't rained in the area for two weeks prior to the game. I think their sprinkler system was accidently left on for two days leading up to the game.:eek:

a few years ago Southwestern was playing at McCreary Central, a member of the chain crew and the man from Southwestern that put off the cannon almost got into a fight. The guy from McCreary was upset because deer season was opening the next day and he thought that the cannon would scare all deer away.

1981 Trimble Co and Frankfort High. Trimble's field field was under water in places. No kidding, it was so bad that the official had to hold the ball after it was spotted to keep it from floating away. That was a fun game. In 2011 it will be 30 years since that game was played and I can embellish the story by saying it was so wet that night that two players drowned in the game. The coldest game I ever attended was the class A state Championship game around 1978 at EKU. It was Frankfort High vs. Campbellsville (I think) It was so cold that a trumpet stuck to a trumpet players mouth while he was playing the fight song. (just like the kid in a Christmas Story)

So right now if I figured correctly South Laurel has 11 points (possibility of reaching 27 points) Mercer Co. has 8 points ( possibilitly of reaching 19 points) Southwestern has 3 points. ( 9 is the highest possible total they can get and that would require Dunbar beating Trinity) It looks bad for my Warriors:cry: South Laurel is IN

With South Laurels upset over Mercer there is now a 3 way tie in the district for the Final 2 playoff spots. Since SW beat SL, SL beat Mercer, and Mercer beat SW you can not use head to head matchups to break the tie. I think the tie breaker is by the number of wins that the teams you beat have. If that is the case here is how it stands at this point in time: Southwesten has beaten South Laurel who has 4 wins, Dunbar who has 3 wins. They still have to play Boyle co. who has 2 wins and GRC who has 1 win. South Laurel has wins over Valley who has 6 wins, North Laurel with 0 wins, Knox Central with 5 wins and Mercer who has 4 wins. Mercer County has won over Rusell Co. who has 1 win, Greenville TN. who has ???? wins, Southwestern who has 2 wins, and Boyle Co. with 2 wins. Mercer still has to play Rockcastle who has 4 wins. So as of right now South Laurel has 15 points, SW has 7 points, Mercer has 5 points + the number of wins Greenville TN. has.

LC first score came on a pass play to the TE at the end of the 2nd quarter.. PC had a 20 play drive that took 9 minutes off the clock that ended with a missed Field Goal. Lincoln took over with a little over a minute to go. The drive was 4 plays,that went 80 yards in 40 seconds. I didnt get to hear how they scored their next 3 TD's

I think SL just beat Mercer. It is a 3 way tie for two playoff spots. I am not sure Mercer will be in the playoffs.

Lincoln made a believer out of me. I did not think they could handle PCs overall team speed, but I was wrong. I think these two will meet again in the 2nd round of the playoffs. It sounds like PC played 'em even for 3 out of the 4 Quarters. But the last minute of the 1st half and the 3rd quarter killed PC. If PC can eliminate the penalties and turnovers it should be a better game next time.
