Am I wrong or wasn't the clark kid gone before they played Boyd to within 2pts? :confused: I wasn't at the game but sounded like from the post about the Russell/Boyd game, that Russell had a real chance of beating one of the top 3 teams in the region without clark. just an observation

I won't speculate on scoring margins or final score (this time) but I think a wake up call was sounded and Morgan has answered. They should come out with more fire this game than they had the last time the two teams met. I'll go with the Cougars!!!

Maybe 4.0 is as high as you can get but I'm pretty sure that 4.2 is what the paper stated. I know that it was at least a 4.0 average for this group, why else would they have done an article about their outstanding achievement? I don't want to even pretend to be at the top of the food chain LBF, but I know these guys put up some extrodinary numbers academicaly. I don't think the paper would have wasted their time doing a story about 3.2 G.P.A. Don't get me wrong I am currently working on a college degree and a 3.2 is about where i'm at, but that won't get me any special recognition.

I guess Morgan Co. has been proving that comment wrong for the past 7 years. Correct me if I'm wrong, but back when Perry, Williams, Fyffe, and Havens were seniors, wasn't there an article written about their academic achievements. I'm not sure but seemed like it was a widely read paper. Again if I'm not mistaken a couple of the boys had something like a 4.2 G.P.A. the rest were hovering around a 4.0.All this while having a great basketball season that year as well!!!! So shoot me down if you must but I agree with nets Morgan has been proving this wrong. :dancingpa

Take Owens & his 30 points a game out of the Boyd equation and your looking at a completely different win/loss record for Boyd. So I would say without him there is not much hope of a regional appearance this year. They still have to get past Fairview and I may be wrong but I feel this will be one of the biggest first game district tourney matchups in the 16th region this year. (The other being a possible Elliott vs Morgan first game matchup). No it won't surprise me where he gets offers from, but it will surprise me if UK is wise enough to go after him.

Did anyone see the story about owens on sports spectrum saturday night? I thought it gave people an idea of where this kid has brought himself from, and anyone who has watched him knows there's bigger and better things ahead for this kid. Maybe it would be to his advantage to play somewhere else other than kentucky, playing for Travis Ford would probably get him alot of minutes as a freshman that he might not get a UK. Not that I feel he is not capable of playing at UK, because I think he is one of many things UK is needing this year!

I only got to hear the post game show, but it sounded like Coach Perry was pleased with the effort. You can't say enough about the great job the coaching staff at Morgan has done this year :thumb: and the overall effort of the players :thumb: :thumb: . They've been fun to watch. I've only made two trips to Rupp in my lifetime (never had much reason to, seeings how I'm a Louisville fan :sssh: ) but I sure would like to see the boys make another trip. Anyhow congrats to the Cougars on a good win!

If Cougars play the solid defense that they are capable of then they put this one away early and win by 18+.

Good win for Morgan. Kinda what I expected to see, but not exactly. The Cougars still seem to get to comfortable when they get a 10- 12 point lead. I thought there were several chances for them to put the game way out of reach from the second quarter on. You are right caveman free throws seem to be a problem for the Cougars. I don't think it has been the difference between a win or a loss yet, but come tourney time it could play a big factor. :thumb: to the coaching staff of Morgan County!

Okay I think it's safe for me to bring this one back up now, got a little anxious and started it about a month to early. LOL Hey nets is their any place that offers calander reading classes that I could attend? Anyway cougars by 13.

Congrats to Elliott for another Good win. I like the way things are shaping up for the district tourney's. There are usually teams that you are pretty sure are gonna make it to the regional. Seems like this year you never know who's gonna fall asleep at the wrong time.

Peyton for Morgan County may not be the best but I would consider him one of the top 5 most well rounded talents in the region. He's quick, good solid defensive player, moves well without the ball, don't know what he averages point wise per game, but definitely a huge contributor, and brings a lot of energy to the game. JMO.

Yep sorry bout that nets. it is morgan's next game though right.If not just overlook me, my mind sometimes goes to a happy place and leaves my body behind to cope.

Just thought I'd get some thoughts about this game.

Correct me if i'm wrong Fairview has lost to Morgan, Elliott, and Boyd. Are these Polls based on regional play only? Just wondering. If so I can't see how it would change anything.

I've watched owens in three games this year, the first two games I watched were up at the campbell county tournament, and I have to admit in those games my thought was that the kid was good but that he hogged the ball. After getting to watch the third game it dawned on me that it isn't him hogging the ball, but it is that Boyd county seems to have climbed on his shoulders and relies upon him to win their games. Guys this is a heavy load for any athlete but especially for a young high school student. Becoming a great floor general takes time, and as he comes along Owens will get better at finding ways to get his team mates involved. I know everyone has a right to their opinion and this is only MY opinion.
