The last team to win up here was Pikeville in 89. They beat the Tigers 49-20.

It has been a long time since at least one of these powerhouse teams weren't at the carpet. I have been watching football since the late 80's. I'm pretty sure most of these teams were in the finals almost every year. You can count Mayfield as well in A but they are still alive as well. If Bardstown beats Mayfield next week it will be the first time since 1990 even though Scribe already has said it that either Beechwood,Danville or Mayfield won't be in the title game. This is the first time since 1990 that either Cov Cath or Highlands isn't in the state semi finals.

I wouldn't say they are equal. Congrats to the Jumpers on this win but New Cath is playing some great football right now. I say New Cath wins this game at least 14 points or more. They have a very underrated defense. New Cath might have the team this year to win it all.

Your right I was just looking at a state football program. I looked up 90 in AAA. Cov Cath got beat by Bell County the week before. Either way it is an amazing stat.

I understand that. But it said that Nky was in the semi finals in both classes since 87. I don't know anything about 3A back then but I know that Pikeville beat Beechwood in the 87 semis.

The same year. Maybe I should explain it more. Since 1987 a Nky Class A and Nky Class AAA team has been in the semi finals during the same year.

That night was cold I was at the Beechwood Lynn Camp game. The coldest game I was ever was ever at was Beechwood vs Pikeville in the 87 semi finals. I don't know the temp in this game but it was colder than that night in 2003.

Hopefully New Cath and Highlands can keep this streak alive. I'm pretty sure at least one Nky team has been in the finals for 24 or 25 straight years. I would think if one of both of these teams win they will keep that streak alive as well.

I was watching insight channel 6 today. They showed a stat. Since 1987 there has been a Nky Class A and Class AAA semi finalist ever year since then. That is one amazing stat.
