I heard the other day that the new Coach at Lewis was very tough. So, I'm guessing that many of the players just didn't want to work hard. But, now Lewis has the kids who truely want to be out on the field and love to play football.

Mason will have a challenge with St. Pat for the district title. And maybe even Bracken Co. may give one of these two teams a surprise. Mason lost a lot experience and talent to graduation, but do have a few young players coming back with some varsity action under their belts.

Who has Dunbar pitched in these games? Not too familiar with them. Was it the ace of the staff and #2?

In the first game, Sr. Kyle Marinaro had a 1-hitter heading into the top of the 7th inning and was taken out of the game becasue he was behind the dish in the night cap.

Mason Co. JV consists of all freshman. I think they played one Jr. and he was catching.

Coach Ormes is a good friend of mine and after seeing the paper today about "No contract Extension" from mr. Father Hinds truly P'd me off. If you want to take a positive step at st. pat get rid of Hinds....He has nothing but bad things to say about other programs and feels that St. Patrick never does a thing wrong it is always the other guys fault. Coach Ormes deserved that job even if he went 0-25 last season he is a great guy and deserves all the respect in the world for what he did at that school. Averaging 14 wins a season at a class a school with very few girls is PHENOMENAL. It is just to bad that SOME people downtown Maysville do not know enough about basketball to realize that. COACH YOU ARE STILL THE MAN AND WE'LL JUST FIND NEW SEATS AT STATE!!!!!

Only one umpire assigned to this game. Never really seen this. Didn't hurt the outcome (well maybe a little), but oh well... any thoughts on it?

No charge at Mason Co. They tried to get it $1 adults and students free, but were told it was ridiculous to charge for a baseball and no one would pay it...

Game played in the rain. The final two innings was a down pour. Anderson seemed like a very solid team, Mason just needs to get the bats rolling and put a string of hits together. Good defense from both teams sespite the wet conditions.

Was back in the line up against Fleming Co. the other night after missing three games. But, he wasn't at his normal position of third base. He was playing second. He and the Woods kid turned a nice double play during the game. It was smooth.

I agree mcpapa. He went up high to get it! The kid on second thought because of a full count he had to run, (no one behind him). England couldn't make up his mind to throw it or not, and when he did it sailed.

Cox triple was a great clutch hit. Was going three out of the box. Great hustle by Richie. And the call at the plate... not too sure what the ump was watching or thinking on the play.

Marinaro said a no go for Monday, but probably a go for Tuesday in a rival game with the Panthers of Fleming Co.

Errors hurt the Royals in this game. The game should have been at worse 3-2! Gave up three runs in the seventh. Early in the first inning Richie Cox hit a shot down the left field line, the umpire said "I don't know? I think it is a foul ball.?" This took some wind out of the Royals but didn't cost them the game. Good game Camels and a good showing on the mound by Woodruff.

Mason comes from three down in the bottom of 7 to get the win. Marinaro hit a double down the left field line with two outs, and then stole third base, and scored an Erik Meadows hit by the third baseman.

Mason was without Sr. third baseman Kyle Marinaro; who is out with a severe stoved index finger and a slightly stoved middle finger on his throwing hand, and starting centerfielder Richie Cox who was gone on a college visit. But, the Courgars still played a good game.

Mason held it close through 5 and a half. It was 5-4 going into the bottom half of the sixth and Mason switched pitchers. Bourbon threw their number two Evans against Masons number two Doyle. Both had a good outing early in the season. Mason never really could get the ball rolling at the plate. But, they will be back in action Wednesday at home.
