Mason Co 8 Pendleton Co 7

Final from March 30th

Rowan County Invitational

Mason Co now 2-1

Pendleton Co 2-2

Mason comes from three down in the bottom of 7 to get the win. Marinaro hit a double down the left field line with two outs, and then stole third base, and scored an Erik Meadows hit by the third baseman.

How about Cox's triple driving in 2 to tie the game and then a bogus call at the plate calling Cox out as the next batter grounds to short and the ump calls the play at the plate like it was a force out situation? I have been watching baseball for many years and have never seen a force out at home(no tag) when there is a guy on third and no one else on base!!! Sorry ump no tag means safe where I come from!!!!! Great fight back Royals!!!!!! By the way it was clutch at the end.:thumb:

Cox triple was a great clutch hit. Was going three out of the box. Great hustle by Richie. And the call at the plate... not too sure what the ump was watching or thinking on the play.

The call at the plate was terrible. Even the Pendleton fans didn't know what to think.

Play of the game may have been by Marinaro to end the top of the 7th - snagging the high throw to third and making the tag to keep it 7-4 at the time.

I agree mcpapa. He went up high to get it! The kid on second thought because of a full count he had to run, (no one behind him). England couldn't make up his mind to throw it or not, and when he did it sailed.

Anyone have an update on the Marinaro kid. Seemed like he either stoved or broke his finger sliding into third base

Was back in the line up against Fleming Co. the other night after missing three games. But, he wasn't at his normal position of third base. He was playing second. He and the Woods kid turned a nice double play during the game. It was smooth.
