As far as I know, there were no all tourney team in the 35th district.....

While I'm not a big fan, of awarding individual accolades, in a team concept, I do understand it generates effort by the players.

 

The recognition for a Senior, for example, is well worth it, since not many opportunities exist in Baseball, to be honored. I think the players enjoy it, fans and parents do, so if the format is agreed upon before hand, than it should be done.

 

Looks good on a college recruiting questionnaire, also.

I know for sure the 39th had one. I think it is up to the host school whether or not there is a team selected.

The 59th didnt have one. They had a tournament MVP, but no tournament team.

The 47th didnt have one..

Many times its a name thing rather than a performance thing anyway. In my opinion there shouldn't be all tournament teams.

Thanks everyone. I was just wondering cuz all the other people I had talked to had them. I believe there should be one because I think the kids deserve a little recognition & yes it does look good when filling out your college questionairres. And I agree sometimes it is a name thing cuz believe me I have seen that happen many times (like this year in the 40th District Softball Tournament), but I still believe the ones that do receive it for great play shouldn't be punished cuz some coaches have favorites or whatever it may be.

I did not see one posted for the 43d, but they may just wait for the all-city teams in Lexington for that recognition.

I agree and disagree .If it is voted on by reporters and others who really do not know the game it is bad OR DO IT BY STATS . If voted on by your pears who appreciate the game the way it should be played than it is good IMO.

I agree Coachg13207. I understand what others are saying about the individual recognition in a team sport, but those guys work hard & if they have a stand-out game(s) then they deserve to be recognized for it especially in a post season setting. I also understand that sometimes it's hard to pick a couple individuals if the team didn't have a star for the game(s) or if all seemed to be stars that game. I know when I received something like that it just made my day & made me want to strive to get even better.
