The Mason County Royals came out swinging and collected 11 hits in the baseball version of the cross-town showdown with district rival St. Patrick. A five-run third inning propelled the Royals to an 11-7 district win at the Tom Browning Boys and Girls Club complex.

 

With the win, Mason County upped its record to 6-12 on the season. However, more importantly, the Royals picked up a big district win which will figure into the postseason seeding. St Pat now 7-3 on the year.

This was an interesting game in that CF Richie Cox pitched the first four innings of the game and got the win. Richie's relatives at the game told me this was the first game he had pitched at any level - little league, HS, etc.

Mason Co. JV consists of all freshman. I think they played one Jr. and he was catching.
