Looks like Russell will have it together by tournament time despite of all the distractions of late.

Before anything gets out of hand talking about the officiating tonight, let me be the 1st to say that it was bad both ways. I don't think either side was happy with the way the game was being called. At least the officiating didn't really determine the outcome of the game.

I wish our little 8th graders were 6'6" :laugh:

Yeah, it really wasn't that big of a crowd tonight and the place was full. So it was the best decision financially to hold the tournament at a bigger venue. That gives everyone who wants to a chance to root their team on, unlike the ALL-A fiasco at Fairview.

Not only that game, but the Ashland/Rose Hill game looks like it will be a dandy too if RH comes out playing like they did tonight.

Good win for Russell. Sounds like Blair and Gill stepped up like they needed to. How many did Vanhoose have?

Congrats to Rose Hill. This game just shows how wide open the region and even the district is. I fully expect BC middle school to be packed for each game in Districts.

I totally agree, but I'm not sure where it will start either. It is definitely a "ME WORLD" now and I'm not so sure if it will ever change, at least not in our lifetime, unfortunately. I miss the days of whenever a team drafted you, that was your team, and that is who you played for. Nowadays, it seems most athletes are playing for that next contract or who will pay them the most. The days of team loyalty are gone forever.

:thumb: Coaches do have to have this responsibility, even at the risk of cutting their own throat. But many won't for fear of having a losing season and listening to everyone call for their head. So who is really to blame in all of this mess, the kids, the coaches, or the fans???

I know that kids need to be held accountable for their actions, but please don't think that this fighting is a new thing, it has been going on for years. The only difference is that with media being the way it is today, everything is blown up to a whole new level.

Knowing Coach Pratt the way I do, I'm sure he is very honored for Rose Hill to ask to do this for David before the game. Coach Pratt is a class act and wants nothing more than what is best for the kids, no matter what school they attend.

I'll take Russell by 4. Vanhoose and jones will more than likely be very good and cancel each other out meaning the rest of the Red Devils will have to step it up.

That HHS team is that good. They have several college prospects on that team.

I'm still not sure that Austin is 100% even yet. He didn't appear to be the dominate player that he has been in the past yet.

McDavid and Thomas are 2 very good players, but you are right, for them to advance they have to have someone step up and take the pressure off of them. As far as Fairview goes, I hope the game against Boyd is their last. But if not, it isn't Barker who will have to step up, he always plays a consistent game along with Black, but the rest of the team will have to step up in order to beat Boyd.
