  1. I really do not mean to sound dumb here but when you post the kid's name can you put their school with them please? I know there are probably others in the state who do not live in NKY who do not know where all of these kids are from and maybe would like to follow stats through the stats in the paper.
  2. I am going to take a guess here and say his parents were involved in the decision. Also, I am sure no doctor, especially their team doctor, would allow a kid on the field if he had not passed ALL of the test required to play after a concussion.
  3. I really do not understand your post. I really do not understand what a HHS poster said in this thread to warrant you calling them arrogant. I am not a fan of Highlands high school for many reasons but what they do every year in football deserves respect and for the most part I think every team in NKY would like to have the success they have had. Good luck to Campbell County next week against Conner.
  4. You are opening up a can of worms that does not need to be opened.
  5. I think it is easy to say they are successful at the freshman level. For the most part the freshman team remains the freshman team and it is all freshman who play. When you get to the JV/Varsity level those freshman may get split up and kids lose interest and quit. It is just not at Campbell County but a lot of schools I would say. Some kids cannot handle being 2nd or 3rd string and do not want to work hard to get there. Kids mature at different rates. A successful freshman team does not always produce success down the line. Some kids play because it is fun and when it is no longer fun anymore they quit. I get tired of hearing just because the freshman team is successful then they should be successful at the varsity level it simple is not true. Things have to change at the top and I do not mean the coach. You can go back on here (previous threads) and find where there were coaches who wanted to coach at Campbell County and were turned down not by the coach but people higher up.
  6. This was a good game. Congrats to the Camels!!! I am wondering if there is an update on the Ryle athlete who went to the hospital with a concussion?
  7. I agree and I am very sure Dr. Divine and Ryle's athletic trainer will take everything into consideration. The nice thing is Ryle (one of maybe 5 schools in NKY who do use it) uses the ImPact program for concussions.
  8. I really do not understand this comment. Like Auscar said, who do you think feeds SK's varsity team?
  9. To my knowledge there is no reporting to the KHSAA for concussions.
  10. I was thinking the samething. Campbell County came out for all 4 quarters and played very well. It was nice to see after the last couple of games from them.
  11. I know where I am, we use ImPACT testing for all concussions. Everyone of the kids has a baseline test and then if there is a concussion suspected then he/she will be retested. The test scores are compared with each other. I think the key is the coaches/trainers knowing the athlete. I do not think every kid who is dizzy has a concussion and I do not think every kid who does not look like they have any symptoms does NOT have a concussion (I hope that made sense). I think nowadays you have to be conservative. Forgot to add this hence the edit. ImPact testing is not used by many high schools in NKY. I know for sure of 3 or 4 who use it. I also know all NFL and MLB teams use it as well.
  12. Great win for the camels tonight. The camels played ALL 4 quarters unlike last week against NCC.
  13. Campbell County stopped the run and Ryle did not do a very good job doing so. Do you know why #7 for Ryle never went back into the game?
  14. WOW just WOW, it is hard to believe you are a parent of an athlete with some of these comments on here. Way to support the kids.
  15. No I think what CC really discovered is they cannot play just 2 quarters in a game and have to play all 4. I do agree with you, Camels by a TD.
  16. From what I heard CC was about to punt from their own 8 and SK had 12 men on the field so CC got a first down. Did I hear this right? Sounds like a great game.
  17. I am hoping the Camels can get things figured out for this week and pull out the win. Just wanted to mention, before the game tomorrow evening there will be a dedication to Woody Johnson.
  18. 2 different teams totally. What does that have to do with this year's team? The coaches coach they cannot make kids have PASSION. They (kids) have to want it and blaming the coaching staff is not right but I guess this is the easy thing to do. Just curious if you have been to a football game this year?
  19. Could not have said it better myself. Cov Cath played a very good game. Until the Campbell County players can believe they CAN win and figure out you can win from coming from behind they will struggle this year. I hope they can figure it out because I want this program to succeed.
  20. Wow, it is called a punishment. Suspended for numerous of reasons? Really? I would say if Coach Styer and his staff thought it was the correct thing to do then they will do. How would you like for him to punish a kid for doing what they do? I mean it seems like you know exactly why they are getting suspended. It seems to me you are just stirring the pot that does not need to be stirred. Campbell County also has been bitten by the injury bug this year which I think has already been mentioned on here.
