Son not happy we lost for the first time to the Rocks 21-7, we had the ball first down and goal twice and didn't score. But their defense played very well and shut us down.

Actually is was a close game util the 4th. Male had a mishandle handoff inside the Rocks 5 that would have tied the game at the half. The second QB got hurt, sorry to see that, and they put in a running back at QB who went about 80 yards on a QB sneak. Both teams had several turnovers that hurt them. All the Rocks TDs came on long plays, and they count. The fans were kinda upset on the Male side as the Rocks were up by the final margin and they were still using first teamers. And there was a questionable call against the Rocks and the crowd went nuts, the game was way over and we thought why are you screaming at the refs? The way the stadium is built you can really hear a lot of things from the other side. Any Rock fans notice this. With no track you are real close to the kids, and the other fans. I'm just reporting what I heard and saw. It seemed like more kids would have got to play, and thats for both teams, the game is over with 6/7 minutes to go, let other kids play. Good luck to the Rocks on thursday/friday.

Male doesn't score that many points, so I don't see them causing a "Running Clock". Just a basic hard fought football game with no clock in mind.

He has already played St X, maybe he can go on the field before the JV game and hit a few, but thanks for the comment.

I understand, my son is a Freshman, so we have some time.

I have already spoken to some Rock fans about this, and was not invited to meet any X fans at their place, so if anyone wants to meet up with me and Mama, let me know. I love football, and talking football. I'll be dressed in Male outfit but will have my Bama seat cushion. Also my wife keeps me under control. It will be fun. We get there early, and our little kicker might be with us.

Thanks for your support RT. I wonder if the Rock AD will let my son come over and kick at their field before thursdays game, he has never kicked at a turf field, he is used to the high grass at Male? He is out of school monday/tuesday.

Ok, Rocktopper, we cool, and I hope to enjoy this week thursday a lot. And I think we will play very hard on Friday and having the home crowd might help us. Good luck to the Rocks.

ROCKTOPPER, show some class, my son who is a Freshman player at Male reads this site with his Mom also. Running clock you ask? if Male scores over 50 it might start. The game is about kids and I love all kinds of football and have over the years had some battles with the Rock/X fans, but I have great respect for fans who win and repsect the teams they play against. As the respect I have for my fellow BGPs Rock/X posters, you will learn this to in time. Now, If I have said something on here for you to bring up the RUNNING CLOCK against my Son's school, then take your shot, I'm a big boy and don't mind some gentle jabs. Have a great time and enjoy the games all week JVs/Freshmen too.

Jim, I'll be at the JVs/Freshman games, and of course friday too. Hope its a safe games all week. It kills me to see kids get hurt. Our young guys are looking forward to see how we stack up on Monday/Thursday.

I don't know really either except for the gate. back in the 70s I started listening to Cawood do the radio as I watched on TV. I still to this day do that. Today the Cats/Cards play at the same time and I will listen to the radio as much as I can. When I have gone to a Rocks/X game I take my radio as I did last nite, even though its hard listening to the announcers who are Homers to the max as they should be. I know that turning on the radio, and I still listen, well until its 35-0, then I choose to turn it off. My point is I see nothing wrong with an opposing team carrying the game, but the AD at Male will take phone calls and if you really want an answer call him.

We had no answer. Their line played very well. We knew going in we had to play very well up front to win. Congrats to the Tigers, but our Freshman did win in case anyone missed it. And JVs Male, lost 16-12 in a very close game. And those games were very well played by all four teams.

What do you do? Quit? No its a four letter word that we will not use. We will play hard and be coached this week to win the game. Its about the kids, on both teams. Its their game, we are just people who watch and type.

St X is very good, a very nice QB and backs run hard. They throw the ball with well ran patterns. They have a very well coached team. Their lines are also well coached. I have yet to see Manual, but I hear good things over at their school. Lets wait and see how it turns out.

Poster, do you have any children? What a sad thread. This game is about the kids, first and only. The coaches at all schools put in a great deal of time away from their own families because they love to coach. And they love the kids. Coach Beatty will coach his team and try to win, and so will the Male Coach. This is not a Braveheart Movie.

Haven't been to X in many years, anything we should know about parking? We usually get to the game early, I'll be in some form of purple but will have a Alabama seat cushion. If you see me stop and say hello.

Will be getting the game film soon, I also have some film that I took, but I have a tendacy to watch and I get the ground. I'm kinda famous around here for doing that. None of the X backers went to this game? They had a real nice crowd, and so did we. Got to meet Jim Seymour #85 before the game, very nice person. As he is on BGPs.

Jim, I know he got a great snap/hold. And their defense caused X some problems late. X has some kids, and we do too. Well called game by the Refs and both schools had a great fan turn out. Its gonna be fun. The Rocks coaches were there, I guess they had no Freshman game.

Male comes back from being down 13-0 at the half to defeat a very good Freshman football team. Both teams played hard and at times very well, and some times not so well. The future looks very bright for both schools.

PEP, hey you might be right, on all accounts. Teams want very much to improve from opening season to the playdowns.

Alabama has always given their kickers a full ride. I bet it was fun watching this being done. Love their food.

We have lost 4 games, but were in every one, we return 3 total starters from last year, but we have played enough games where that doesn't hold any longer. We have improved and continue to practice very hard. I don't like to predict scores with my team, but it wouldn't surprise me if we play very well and win the game. X will play very hard and are very well coached. Our JVs lost to X 16-12 but everyone there knows we were equal, we turned it over 3 times and that just killed us, only one where there was contact. X scored on a pitch out where the back fumbled and picked it up and ran it in, on the game film there was a hold by the end and was not called...part of the game, but my point is these teams were equal and the future looks very good. Frosh play on thursday. I'll give a report thursday nite. I'm not sure where the Dawgs fans on here are? I'd love to see a win.

Wow nice kick, St X kicker hit a 38 yarder I believe. We haven't tried one as of yet, but hit some in practice. I love seeing these kickers do well.
