:thumb: Hey Waggle, we've come a long way this season when you have to tell me to calm down. But you are right, I got too carried away and apologias to everyone if I have offended. Lots of pride in these two team's camps, which is good. That being said, I guess this forum is all about opinions, cause ain't none of us on here (except players) going to have a hill of beans of real say, its the boys. Some of the fine folks just have a certain "way" of stating things that gets me going. Go big green!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
You need to read posts before you comment on them. I never compared the two.
-
I'm not missing a thing, unless you are too.You can preach until Friday. I can preach until Friday. I won't relent, and you won't. Come Friday the boys will decide. Then probably in 2 more weeks, they will decide again. Harlan won't be rolling over for the Jumpers, and like I believe I said to you a few weeks ago, I hope the Jumpers are as over confident as you are.
-
I SAID, the last time they saw a quality D they lost. I didn't SAY, that our 1A team was of the same level as theirs. Harlan's D is the class of our district, just like Somerset's O is the class of our District. It is fitting that it has come down to these two teams.
-
Then I'd love to see Middlesboro and Somerset play. They have 3-4 kids that are awful fast. If the jumpers win, they win, but the Dragons are very well conditioned. I've not seen them breathing hard yet, and I still doubt I will. Everyone has their opinion, and the Jumpers and the Dragons will decide it Friday night. The last time the jumpers saw as quality a D as Harlan, they lost.
-
I just don't think Somerset is 13 points better than Middlesboro and surely don't think their D is as good as Middlesboro. I just love the "stomp the life out" line. I promise you the hardest hits will be by the green team, win or lose. Ask your campers. No one has "wore down" the Harlan D. If the Dragons lose it will not be by being "ran over".
-
While I certainly hope we are playing in 2 weeks back in Harlan, I certainly want to thank you for being so gracious in your posting. Many folks just don't have that much class when predicting a victory for their team. I believe it will be closer than most think. At any rate, good to know there are some great Jumper fans out there who realize its a game.

Breathitt County vs. Middlesboro Predictions
DRAGONPAPPY replied to pallex32's topic in KY Football (High School)
:thumb: Hope you are right! When Breathitt came to Harlan, I was impressed by the "class" that both players and coaches displayed. My prediction was my head, not my wishes. Go Bobcats! -
Breathitt County vs. Middlesboro Predictions

Very similar teams in different stages of development. Look for the Jacket's experience to overcome the Bobcat's youthful talent. The Middlesboro seniors are firing on all cylinders. Middlesboro 36 Breathitt 18 -
I'd like to say otherwise but Jumpers 52 Lynn Camp 28 Come on Campers, prove us all wrong and muddy up this district race!

should be a barn burner. If Williamsburg is clicking, could be a long night for Cumberland. Depends on which Cumberland team shows up. Williamsburg 36 Cumberland 32
-
Harlan 42 Pineville 12

Have to agree with this. We have to be thinking this year. Most years Bell would certainly deserve a higher ranking. This year, however, is the Jacket's year so far, so until they get knocked off, they are where they should be.

Dragon D had something to do with that.:thumb:

Well I tried to resist but couldn't. Do you realize how many pass interference penalties were NOT called tonight on the Jackets? Well, plenty, but now don't get riled, I'm not saying it made the diff, cause it didn't. Harlan had opportunity and failed to put points up. For every time the Harlan recievers were interfered with, there was another just overthrown pass or dropped ball, so load up, point at foot and shoot. The defense played well for the most part. Actually in first half, defense only allowed one TD.Jackets are so well balanced, the D is very good, and so many weapons. After playing Breathitt and Middlesboro, I'd give the Jackets the nod.

Big deal, how often y'all beat the big BELL COUNTY? My big point is guys like you, instead of posting intelligent comments, like to take a good year by your team and ram it down other's throats. My son is a Dragon, some of his friends play for Middlesboro. Gaurentee they are all better sports than you. Its a disgrace to this forum. Must be some unmet need or something. Jeez Louise:creepy:

Harlan was penalized for the most yards
-
Wrong again! Living in someone's shadow means that you sit and worry about that person, or in this case "team" all the time. What you may well say is that Middlesboro owns the series, much like you could say that Middlesboro lives in the shadow of Bell County, right?? :ylsuper: Well I can tell you that the Middlesboro game never comes up until the week of. What is discussed are the class A teams Harlan has to beat to get to the playoffs. If you want Harlan to "cringe" in Middlesboro's shadow, you'll be waiting until a certain place is ice covered and the teams are playing hockey at Wasioto Winds instead of football. I gaurentee you that Harlan is "not" spending their waking moments trembling..................
-
Good post, except for "living in Middlesboro's shadow". Middlesboro is a non-district game. They were lucky to come out of Harlan with a win last year. I think there is respect, but not fear. The Dragons are one of the most consistent small Class A teams in the mountains, largely due to Coach Donahue's ability to get the most from his players, as well as Coach Perry's knack for defensive schemes. If Harlan has a "shadow" to fight, its probably Pikeville. This game will be a positive for Harlan win or lose, as long as no one gets hurt. And like you, I believe Harlan has a chance for an upset with a break or two.

:thumb: Better kicking would definitely help. With the speed available, I'd say coverage would be good if kicking was better. I'm sure kickers are doing their best. Its tough on small Class A schools to have consistent kicking.
