How well does Ryle pass the ball?

Dfire, is Henderson still ranked behind WC CC OS MC in your poll? Maybe you should change your user name to something like GOforTWO. I am just joking, but I will say WC could have won just as easily as they lost. Both teams gave the other some huge matchup issues. I was expecting a high scoring game with some decent pass totals, but I was not expecting all the yards on the ground by both teams. Stepping outside my Colonel self, it would have been interesting to see WCs offense against Owensboro's defense this season.

Henderson has won 2 regional titles in 4 years. If we win our 3rd in five years, it would be the best 5 year period of Henderson Co. football. It might be the best 5 years anyway. Henderson has not done as well as they should have the last 30 years.

The problem is not the football fans as much as the people who are not football fans. I am not sure they will care how far we go. The rumors have been hard on everyone. However, the rumors are not what have gotten him on the hot seat. Rumors have been around Duffer and Tom for a while. Channel 25, the gleaner, and even WSON have all reported things that have upset many people. I can't see him being back next season because of the overall environment that has been created. I hope things work out for everyone because watching those guys coach has been a joy to watch. This team plays more like a "team" than any Henderson team I can remember. Most people in Henderson thought we were going to win 3 or 4 games this season. Duffer and the guys have really done something special. Henderson is a team with small lines and allot of heart. They seem to get stronger the more they are challenged. Henderson is much better than Castle, and when we fell apart against them during the first game of the season with cramps and really nothing in the tank, most teams would have been finished for the season period. Every time something happens that would hurt most teams they play harder, they play better, and somehow they are focused enough to adjust mentally and physically in preparation and execution.

I am not sure why I voted for Henderson:D

He called the AD? Was it a half joke? Why would someone feel the need to do that other than just having fun? DF, give us a breakdown on the game.

I have never heard of WC doing something like this. Were the starters on the field?

WC seems to be having more trouble 3 out of the last 4 games. Greenwood by 14 and the Marshall and Christian games make me wonder about them. I know the last two are good teams, but even the PT and DC scores seem to suggest that they are down a bit. However, I think still they may win region.

I like watching his football teams, but the way he and his dad handle some one on one situations has rubbed people the wrong way especially Tom Duffy. Duffer did look to be getting more players out and we broke the 40 player mark this year. I think Duffer will be a great coach somewhere, and there are a few areas where he would be a little better than his dad on dealing with people. The framework of the past twelve years has made it difficult for him to handle this season's troubles and maybe has caused more bad things to happen than would have if another coach was here. When or if he understands this, he will be miles ahead of his dad. If he chooses to keep his head down, not understand the steps leading up to this, and keep doing what he has done then he will always be coaching on TNT. I tend to think he will do much better on his own the next time around.

What I said has been covered in the Gleaner (online too) or local TV except the former player's comments(there are those players and parents with an ax to grind anyway) and the one Tom Duffy/player comment, which I got from two school officials. One of those is really really really solid. As for the rumors, I wrote about the rumors being problem whether they are all true or not. As for public arguing that has also been covered my all major media around here. And for how people feel about probation, radio, and administration ect., read any hot Duffy article in the gleaner and go down below that for the comment section. Channel 25 may also still have video on alot of this stuff if you search it.

"Rumor and fact" Two suspensions during the season has never happened here in Henderson. Even before this summer, Duffy support was not great. The AD is under fire now, and that combined with the fact Duffer's hiring was a controversy in itself. The school board and Superintendent are also under fire right now. General arguing in public venues has occurred. You can hear people in the stands talking about things including a few parents. A few former players that were not on the outs have said a few things about Tom Duffy that has people wondering. Revisiting old issues that were not investigated enough(there have been many complaints before this year). Cussing on the air (F). Allowing the team to vote not to talk to the local radio station, which has done Henderson sports a great service through the years. Players defending the coach in opinion pages of the Gleaner. Breaking a rule on purpose with many possible consequences. Just the very controversy about what happened over the summer combined with years of rumors true or not and having a varsity team that is usually around 34 players when it should be double that has made it impossible for Duffy to stay here. Tom was going to retire anyway but there was huge pressure to do something about him too. I know for a fact one player had a different story about what happened in July! Our entire athletic department is on probation! The perception around town about corrupting kids minds is something that cannot be over looked either when dealing with a teacher. He won't be here next year. The right people have their butt in a sling.

Henderson does not even talk to WSON (30 years of covering the Cols) anymore because Duffer said a bad word on air :sssh: . The radio station decided not to do Duffers pregame and weekly interviews. The team(players) later voted not to talk to WSON period. This would have seemed crazy to me at one time. Not anymore.

This was what was said on WSON or one news source last year and it was what I heard from people around the program. However, I also heard it may have had something to do with a custody issue, but I am not sure about that.

How is Central's passing game this year? Have you guys played any speed teams other than your two loses?

I would be willing to bet they looked at Henderson more than Mater Dei during the offseason. You would have to be one stupid coach if you didn't. What i said is nothing new to high school football. It does not mean you don't prepare for the next game.

I have done some youth coaching over there, and I believe their coach said it last year.

They practice our sets and plays all the time. It was done when Fidler was here too.

I would say Senior is better at blocking and kicking punts. The return game looked even to me.
