  1. That wasn't me ole buddy that was one of your own in the post game thread!! I just quoted them. See your own people agree!  You guys have a great team an the better team won plain an simple It just looks much better to be good hosts vs taunting the opposing team with such banter during the entire game!
  2. Thats right after touchdowns not between every play an several times into the play! Ashlands band was stopped just last week from playing during the game an before plays an this went on all night. I guess those with little class have a hard time seeing the lack of it!!! It is one thing to fire up the home team but that is ridiculous as I have stated before act like you have been a winner before it is so much better than to act like you have no idea how to control yourselves.
  3. Such a great football team, wear what ever you want hang a stuffed cat on a pole those things are for the kids anyway I have no problem with it! When the game starts it should be nothing but pep bands an a lot of yelling an cheering, not the use of a speaker system except to call the game! I felt sorry for the band I don't remember them playing at all, No wonder they were so few in numbers! That game on friday nights is one place the band is supposed to showcase there talent but instead you showcase a set of speakers instead of the kids in the band? But I think the adults should act as adults an enjoy what a great team an season you are having! An you think you have to belittle the other team with those one liners? What a waste of time I enjoy watching quality football games an that was a really good team we saw last night, there is no need for it!! Enjoy your team and try to control yourselves like I said before act like you been a good team before!
  4. I simply stated the facts JC announcer was in very poor taste and showed no Class! As for the cat on a stick that was handled pretty quick, but IMO wasn't that big of a deal except where he was walking with it. Those same officals stopped the Ashland band from playing in between plays last week, an still let that smartalecky PA guy play on all night during the game even during some plays!! Unacceptable! As I said last night in my post The better team won Grimm is a great little running back! As some of your own have stated on here before, act like you have been winners before, act like you have been out of the holler before! As for sour grapes not even close Im just glad I wasn't setting around anyone who appreiacted any of there behavior. I did ENJOY some of there pregame music and how they brought there team to the field! But IMO that is where it should stop the tacky one liners were inappropriate and tasteless, even though you have not act like you have been in big games before, If this continues into the playoffs however far they may go try to control yourselves? I know now Matney finally found a place to fit in, so glad Ashland didnt consider his application a few years ago! When you go to Maysville next week take a look a long look a quality an Classy team an people in general, what a fine program! I am only speaking my opinion an everyone I talked to last night were saying the same things! I don't know how old the PA guy is but buy the sound of it maybe about 16 or 17 if so then I apoligize I would expect that from a child! I am so glad Ashland dosen't let the kids play with our PA equipment! Grow up JC you have a excellent football team, now bring your fans an PA guy up to that level!:thumb:
  5. That is the one I was thinking of that was the hardest I have ever witnessed! Before that I remember Ashlands Marc Washington I think it was the 92 or 93 season at Ironton he hit one of the Delong boys on the Ironton sideline right in front of Lutz he had about a 6 or 7 yard run on him as he was catching a pass he didn't even see it coming he form fit him as he was landing an drove him into the ground, Man, that was the hardest hit I could remember since I had been watching or playing. up until Adam Canoy last year on the P-burg kid!!!  Both kids were fine to the best of my knowledge.
  6. Don't they pretty much play the same teams in the new alignment as they do in the present? Except Mason Co. I think the district remains the same?
  7. :thumb: SOUNDS GOOD!
  8. I don't think I will take any game for granted, and the way Ashland played last night they can't afford to overlook anyone! To many mistakes, misques, for me, it is week 7 should not be having Center/QB exchange problems at this time of the year! Not sure whats going on there? To many dropped passes also, but I think you would have to credit Mason Co. D-fence for some of those! I am sure Lawerence will come to play an not roll over like some think! I seem to remember seeing post that Ashland would handle Mason with out to much trouble, Problem is somebody forgot to tell MASON CO. lol.lol.
  9. Well I have seen Ashland look much better, but they showed a lot of grit comimg back for the win like that, and then holding on while Mason made a last ditch effort! There quarterback is very poised and has good feet. I have been impressed each year since we first played them when they had Lofton an Grutza! Coach Bucannon seems like such a Class act even there Radio crew are tops just so respectful of Ashland every time I have had the pleasure of listening to them! I think Mason is that solid of a team they gave Ashland all they wanted an then some! Lookout who ever has to play them next they are a very solid football team! I hate the fact that we will not play next year or ?? I have nothing but good things to say about my trips to MAYSVILLE nice people and good football can't ask for any more than that! GOOD LUCK MASON COUNTY ROYALS the rest of the season!!! :thumb:
  10. Some JC fans seem to be taking this pretty hard, I don't want to cause any problems. I am looking forward to a great game in 2 weeks between the 2 best teams in the district. If it wasn't for the quality of the 2 teams in question there wouldn't be this much excitement surrounding this game! Thats what it is all about getting the fans and comunities into the game! For the fans and players, to win this game or any other is to win bragging rights! In 2 weeks both teams will put it all out on the field for 48 minutes an see who gets the right to brag a little bit? Meanwhile this is what makes games like this so much fun like the Ashland VS Russell, P-burg, Raceland, Belfry etc... Since Ashland has got to focus on the task at hand (MASON CO.) Then (Lawrence Co) then JC! See ya in 2! :flame: DAWGS
  11. That seems to be the point!
  12. Apparently somebody thinks so, they are ranked 3rd in the state in 3A? I'am not sure about the competition? I am sure not to many great teams get 50 or more points scored on them as all of JC competition has had done to them. But anybody that can put that many points on the board week in and week out must be pretty good! Not sure what that says about there competition? #3 I don't know but they can be a very dangerous team for sure! Ashland will have to be in top form to beat this JC team, with that said JC will surely have to be on top of theirs to beat Ashland! Despite what people are saying about Ashlands chances VS JC, JC should not underestimate the Tomcats?
  13. Thank You, I just remembered him being involved in 10 touchdowns and alot of yards. I wasn't really trying to compare the two, that just kind of jarred my memory a little bit.
  14. Ya know what GET OVER IT YOU GOT BEAT! I was there as many of you where there, It was a very close call but it was OUT. End of story Everyone on here likes to talk about Ashland fans whinning? Some people should look in the mirror! See ya in 2 wks:fight:
  15. Wow, Thanks Dino, you just saved Ashland a huge embarassment! I am pretty sure they will go ahead an call the AD at CENTRAL and forfiet that game all together! Shoo, I don't know why these games should even be played sounds like you got it all figured out. Guess we can tell the guys they won't need those MUD CLEATS after all!
  16. Does anybody else remember this or did I just dream it? I thought it was a couple years ago?
  17. I just might do that mhighfield, but I am pretty fond of the Big Boy! We haven't had on around here for years. It is always a treat for me to go through there! :thumb:
  18. That is absolutely right, That is the way it should be if an announcer dosen't have a real passion for his team or the skill to put it into words it will show! We are very fortunate to have a crew that BLEEDS MAROON & WHITE!
  19. Shoo, I am sooooo glad you put a definition, and how to use it in a sentence. You are so smart goherd96!!!
  20. Wasnt there a kid from I believe it was Paintsville? that had a game similar to that something like 10 touchdowns an 500 or 600 yards last year or year before?? I don't remember the exacat stats was it the Pugh boy?
  21. No doubt Dickie is the Man, Draws a picture of the game with words. The few games I have missed were tolerable because of his skill. I dont think anybody else could have as much passion for ASHLAND sports as Dickie Martin an Dirk. Those two are the voice of the TOMCATS!!! Wouldnt have it any other way!
  22. Should be a good game. Can't wait til Friday! Love to go to Maysville and eat at the Big Boy! Go Tomcats!
