Newport ran the ball and played some stiff Defense. They appear to be one of the better teams in the district.

Kick them when they are down- the kids and coaches at North Oldham will have the last laugh one day.. just give them time. There has been stability issues, and lack of participation. A new field, additions to the school, and more than 2 seniors will help

Mercer Co-year in and our was pretty good and so was Harrodsburg- put them together and you got this years team!!! In 5a it will not be as big of difference as this year. The new weight room-turf area also heps participation and the kids knew they would be good after the merger- so to make a long story short-participation is way up

North Oldham will start 7 on defense and 6 on offense- Danville can start the entire game with theirs and it should be quite a barn burner

They may do the same when Danville and Frankfort play later in the year:D

You guys that want to defend the KHSAA policies and our current allignment-then see if this makes sense? Here is my proposal to make it fair and equal to the entire state. Eastern Ky can continue to get thier best players from West Virginia, or steal from the weaker schools, yes your Daddy can have a job! Louisville can be all open enrollment, but Lexington must continue to to have boundaries so they can't compete with the great Ville. Northern KY well- I don't even try to understand how they do things there? The rest of the state must only have kids that live in the 10 mile boundary of your town, pray none drive to a private school, or get hurt, marry little Jenny, or worse play soccer. I believe this would work, woops this is the way it is now. Now all you smart folks who do this will say, well this is the best system we got; live with it Knute! Now if this seems like it this is a fair system, then you guys who are arguing that it is okay, must be second guessing your christian values at this time. My daddy Knute SR always said you reap what you sow and sooner or later you will have to answer for it. THE KHSAA NEEDS TO MAKE BOUNDARIES FOR PUBLIC SCHOOLS, AND PUT NON-BOUNDARY SCHOOLS IN A PRIVATE CLASS ONLY, HAVE A RATIO FOR ALL BOYS SCHOOLS, AND POLICE THE STATE TO STOP THE CHEATING!

Recruiting is not a bad word? If parents are willing to live in the district of the school they want their child to attend I don't believe it is wrong. But kids going to schools from different states, counties, etc is wrong for athletics to try to compare a private and public school. If they can draw from those wide of boundaries then it is not fair to a public schools. Just look at the Massey Ratings for football teams and look at all the private schools near the top. Bottom line- wide range of students to chose from, without the risks of recruiting violations. If we talk to another kid from another school public schools will report them to the KHSAA. Private and Public should be split up period.

that is fine -then private schools need a to be in a different athletic division than schools that can only draw from a limited area.
