  1. They get kids from other places with a change of address- not a ride like a private school- they don't get kids from other counties or states like the private schools without a move by the parents!!!!!!
  2. So we can send assistant coaches to Trinity, St. X, and hand out pamplets to come to our school system. Sounds good to me, I believe I will try it. This is exactly why everything must fall perfectly in place for a public school to win a State Championship. One transfer, injury, etc dooms a public school. Where the all over school district can just reload! Northern KY is not to far for them to recruit some players, and then it would hit a little closer to home.
  3. You guys can- you had Trinity bear last year just needed to eat the clock???? But if you could draw kids from all over; you definitely could beat the two Catholic powers.
  4. The only time they complain is when the "talk" happens regarding their feeder system which encompasses everywhere is talked about. Even if you made them take Louisville only that would help even it up. They get kids from Oldham, Frankfort, Henry, Spencer, Jeffersonville, New Albany, Clarksville, and who knows where else??? That is what would be the most fair thing that could happen to give the other L-ville schools a fair chance to beat an All-Star team that does work hard, etc etc. The do set a great example but all of your good programs are going 365 like they are and don't get to draw all over the state.
  5. You are right Alabama and Florida is looking better every day
  6. In 4A or even 3A it is not unusual for several seniors to move on to play college ball but at a small school like HC or CC it is very rare to have more than 1 or 2 in any given year(quote) -----D1 yes- but Carroll had 5-6 guys who could play at Union, C-ville, Pikeville, etc. It depends on grades and how bad they want to.
  7. No problem super B- those kids worked hard- HC had 10 in the last 4 years- These kids can play if they work hard. Sometimes everyone thinks if you don't play D1 there is no other chance to play college football. If you have good grades and are willing to work it is possible to play somewhere!
  8. Oh bye the way- you guys tradionally have more talent than HC? I guess you guys did not the last two years right? It must explain why Henry Co lost to Russell( the 2a champs) 59-29 in the first round??
  9. You are taking away- they worked hard and got the most out their ability. Thier coaches pushed them to go to college and play, and they try to help them get there. Maybe other programs should do that instead of using them for four years and then throwing them away.
  10. Henry County's Billy Vaughn will play college ball for Hanover as an OL. Hard work pays off for Vaughn and the rest of thre Wildcats!
  11. Take Dequeese May off you team and Male would have won that year in the snow! He lives in Shelby Co!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Draw from a neighborhood like everyone else, and se how good you are
  12. You would get rocked, no pun intended
  13. go to clinics order videos talk to coaches of all levels read books watch games visit your schools in the area watch the KHSAA open jobs board etc
  14. I agree Gus!! Pick and chose offer scholarships sounds like college Male an Manuel get their pick in Jeff Co What if Eastern and Fern Creek could keep all their feeder kids!!!
  15. Does anyone have a "proposed" breakdown of the 6 class system, and which teams would be in what districts? If you do please copy and post it.
  16. Coach Hadden has done a wonderful job as defensive coordinator. Henry County would be smart to try to keep him. I know Coach Martin thinks the world of him on several levels and wishes him the best whatever he does.
  17. So it is like you "sort of" know I was always told if your not for sure not to speak And what does the big turnaround roll your eyes thing mean? Henry County went up with their program every year since 2002. They had 3 coaches on the staff in 02, 2 in 03, 6 in 04 and 7 in 05. That was what helped them the most, and the ability to split the staff and give more individual time to the kids. Coach Martin went out and got papapro's to field his staff and had only one teacher in the building. To me that was the turning point in their program. NO coach is any more important than the team. Henry County was improved in all phases of the game not just defense. The kids are still in the weight room working hard(with Coach Martin) and working towards next season. If you are interested in the job Coach J --apply- When "Anticipated" opens
