Does your school have in place, innings and pitch count limits early in the season. Is there a minimum number of starts or pitches. When does that gradually increase.

Coach Price let Fleming County, to District 61 runner up last year. The are going to Cocoa Expo this year. He took over for Coach Peterson and has Fleming, going in the right direction.

Raceland should be honored, to have Coach Vanderhoof at the helm. I have known him for numerous years and first class, does not do him justice. One of the best men and overall positive influence, to young people I know. He does a lot for the Ram community and school. At most schools, getting gym time as you say is difficult, for non basketball programs. Many programs will have players, who are dedicated and working on their own. Coach Hall left to work at Morehead State and replacing him, will not be easy. Finding those coaches willing to put in the time, have them offer their services.

Final

You must start with "Character", of the person you are putting in charge of your student-athletes. Then consider "Understanding" for the game and does his players, know the fundamentals. You then must have someone who is "Passionate" about what they do, which carries over to his staff and team. Finally, you must have a "Winner" or someone who strive to be one. What separate many Coaches, are the willingness to put endless hours of work, sacrifices with family and the desire to excel. As to why some play, it can be practice or lack of effort. It can be not being able to execute his assignment, in certain half-court sets. It can be, not guarding his man properly or lack of lateral foot speed. It can be size mis-matches, or athleticism and even quickness. So many reasons, other than "politics". Coaching is a thankless job.

Boyd always has a premier program. Not my intent to leave anyone off, just consider this a starting point for consideration.

Not sure but believe there is. I know AAU Baseball exists. I was in Florida this past spring and talked with several parents, who indicated a lot of participation but I had never heard of it.

I meant finding teams, who are sanctioned AAU teams, would be difficult. Getting some to complete the paperwork and documents, would take some organization and coordination. I once ran AAU Basketball and even formed a conference, in my area and almost had to teach a class, on completing and submitting the required paperwork.

Finding teams to play, would require organization if this transpires. It would certainly affect Baseball, even more.

He is outstanding and wasn't sure, what some consider EKY. I saw Tanner several times, this summer.

Keep in mind, the Initial Signing period is gone. The Regular Signing period, is as follows: April 15, 2009 - May, 2009 Any player can verbal, at any time but Letter of Intent, will be signed during this time. If Jonathan is not going to sign in the Initial Signing period, than he's evaluating all his options, like other players will do.
