  1. I don’t think you can say they would have been uglier. Considering Franklin County just gave Boyle a better game last week. Either way Boyle still wins though. At the end of the day only one team had a true chance against Boyle and that was Corbin.
  2. That was fun! Hopefully Wagner is ok, because he will be an important part to this team. However, it is nice having other options this year. I love how they spread the floor, share the ball, attack the rim and shoot and make three’s.
  3. It’s also always easy to complain and say what should have happened after the fact. Once again if they had passed more like you suggest and still lost. Then people would complain about how they went away from what got them there, and how could you be dumb enough to pass when ran for over 400 yards before. It’s always easy to complain after the fact, and still no idea if what you suggested would have even led to a different result. Still may have lost doing what you say they should have done.
  4. At the end of the day, a loss by Highlands was going to have some people complaining no matter what. If Highlands passes the ball more and still lose. Then people complain saying they were dumb to try to pass the ball, when they ran for over 400 yards the first time. So either way there was going to be someone complaining that they did something wrong if they lost.
  5. No doubt Burrow injury played a big part in the offensive struggles. Which has zero to do with what we been discussing. Since that still goes back to the offense not doing much to help the defense, no matter what the reason. You referenced the Bills and 49er games. Those are two of the best offenses in the league and the defense held them to 18 and 17 points. Showing my point, because in those games the offense did play better. Which in turn also made the defense do better and look similar to previous years and holding down top offenses. Then the Texans game you mentioned the Bengals offense scored a touchdown the first drive. Then the offense did nothing the next 6 possession, with 4 of those 6 possessions being three and outs. Kept putting the defense right back on the field, against a hot offense. Yeah the final stats won’t show it, but the offense wasn’t good that game either and neither was Burrow with his two costly 4th quarter interceptions. The offense was only going to score 17 points that game, before the defense got an interception with 3 minutes left and returned it back to the 4 yard line. Then even with this Steelers game, yes they gave up a lot of yards and still held them to 16 points. If you only give up 16 points, you should win. Yet the offense did nothing. So once again yes the defense has been bad this year, and the offense for the most part hasn’t done much to help them out and has been bad too. Just a bad year on both sides of the ball.
  6. The bengals offense was ranked 24th in total offense the day before the Bengals played the Ravens, not 14th. I'm not exactly sure why we are discussing here. I have said I agree the defense has been bad this year, so I'm not sure why you post defensive stats, because I agree with you on that. I’m simply saying the offense hasn’t done much to help the defense either. The Bengals offense consistently putting the defense back on the field. Which is why the Bengals are one of the league leaders in having to punt this year. Both the offense and defense has been bad. You would think if a a defense created the third most turnovers in the league. That the offense would be able to score more points. Yet the bengals offense has also been one of the worst in points scored this year too. It’s simple the offense has sucked and doesn’t score much and consistently makes the defense go back on the field. The defense has also sucked and has given up big plays all year, and hasn’t stopped anyone unless they create a turnover. Both have been bad.
  7. Alexander is a stud and one of the top overall players in the whole state. The best receiver for Cooper though and one of the best receivers in the state is Isaiah Johnson. Highlands was determined to make sure he didn’t go off again like he did the first game and routinely kept 2 or 3 guys on his side. I look for him to have a big game this week. Which is what creates issues for teams, because with Johnson and Alexander on the outside at WR, O’Hara at QB, it opens up things for a very good and underrated RB in Maher.
  8. What exactly does that article rank them on? Any data to back up their ranking? I’m truly asking because I’m not familiar with that site. Or are they just ranking based off opinion and how the Bengals offense should be? With that said you definitely are the first person I know this year that apparently doesn’t think the offense has been bad this year. Going into the Thursday night game before Burrow got hurt. The Bengals offense was ranked near the bottom and in the 20s in both scoring offense and total yards. Bengals offense ranked in the 20s for their down percentage. Only 7 teams have punted the ball more than the Bengals this season. All while keeping in mind the Bengals defense has created the 3rd most turnovers in the NFL given the offense more chances to get the ball back to score and yet the offense still couldn’t score. Which obviously Burrow’s calf was a big issue to start the season, and is part of. However, that all goes back to the offense hasn’t done much to help the defense either. Both have been bad this year.
  9. Great post. Also great job mentioning Jack Lonaker who is an absolute stud at LB for Cooper and has been making plays for Cooper for 3 years now.
  10. Yes the offense has been bad basically all season. The 49ers and Cardinals were good, other than that the offense has struggled very much and quickly off the field putting the defense right back out there. Neither has been good, and the defense definitely has been disappointing. However, the offense has been pretty bad all year besides basically two gaames. The defense in this game did give up a lot of yards, however still only gave up 16 points. If you give up just 16 points, you should win.
  11. To be fair Watt does that to basically everyone and a few of those weren’t on Williams. Twice I believe Sample was suppose to block out on him and Williams the inside guy, and instead they just both left him completely free lol. Just really nothing good about the offense. Honestly I think this also shows more on Taylor as a play caller. Other teams have had to play with backup QBs this year too and they still find ways to at least look half way decent on offense. Yet Taylor’s track record as a play caller without Burrow isn’t good at all.
  12. Defense hasn’t been good this year. However, the offense has done nothing all season really to help them out.
  13. Now this I agree with. 3 of the 4 semi finalist in Cooper, BG, and Owensboro all had really young teams and return the majority of their top players. Highlands loses a lot, however have a lot of very good young talent coming up and will look to make a run with their young talent next year similar to what those 3 teams have done with their young talent this year.
  14. Which is awesome that they were such great players and accomplished so much. That is definitely something to be proud of. Much like I’m sure you would have taken issue and said something if some random person tried to put them down and suggest they weren’t as good as said, and say things how did he get an offer from Army? Doesn’t seem like he is that good. He probably got ran over by guys not getting as many looks. Would seem pretty ridiculous for someone to go out of there way to say things like that, right? Which is what you have done a few times now randomly in prediction threads and in this thread. Hence why you have gotten the reactions that you have. These were two very good teams with lots of good players on both sides, and was a great game.
  15. If had to guess Highlands probably definitely will have the Cooper game circled on their schedule next year, since they know they probably would have to get by Cooper to make it to State. Which if these two teams stay in the same district it may end up being a common theme for both teams having to get through one another to get to where they want to go. A part of what made the Highlands/CovCath rivalry so great was that they were in the same class and usually stood in each others way in regards to state runs. With them currently not in the same class anymore, and possibly not for the foreseeable future. That rivalry while still intense, won’t have the same impact as it use to. Which Cooper will be a top 5 team in 5A again next year, and will once again be a hurdle Highlands most likely has to get past if they want to get back to making State like they use to. Hence, why it was brought up that this could have the making of being a rivalry. Since a good chance these two teams will have to go through one another again next year in the playoffs at some point and in the future if they both stay in same class.
  16. An ugly game as expected. I said it last week, but it’s not the worst thing in the world if the Bengals lose out.
  17. That would be the only way Cooper ends back up in 6A. Which it will be interesting next alignment for Cooper, Conner and Dixie where their enrollments put them.
  18. Hmm so should a lot of those Highland’s wins not count then either, since most of those wins came in the “down” years for Cooper? Two of the years now where both Cooper and Highlands had good teams, Cooper won. In fact the last two times now Highlands has made the state semi finals 2015 and this year, Cooper has gotten wins over Highlands in those years. So Cooper has only had one win over Highlands during Highlands “down” years. While most of Highlands wins over Cooper, have came over Cooper during their down years. Which even that one other win for Cooper, came in a down year for Cooper when Cooper only had 3 total wins that year in the other year they beat Highlands. Just trying to help keep things in perspective. Since apparently you didn’t like it being mentioned of this possibly becoming a rivalry.
  19. Great post. I know someone mentioned it in the update thread. This could be the start of a nice rivalry between both schools.
  20. That was not his point, and was obvious because this was his second attempt at putting down a few players from Cooper. He also did that in the prediction thread too, so definitely was not the point he was making, and was now his second time even saying something as he did that in the prediction thread too. Not a single person would have said a word if he talked up the talented Highlands players. Because everyone knows Highlands team was very talented and would agree. Benke definitely should be a Mr. Football candidate with the numbers he put up this year. Geisler is a beast at running back. I forgot his name but number 5 is a stud at WR and defense. Then absolute studs up front on the line.
  21. He did drop a sure touchdown. Which in a lot of situations a high school kid would have a hard time coming back from dropping a touchdown that would give them a lead with 6 minutes left in the 4th. Instead of pouting and thinking about the drop, the very next play he goes across the middle and catches a 10 yard pass while getting drilled to convert the 3rd and 9. Which also got them in field goal range for the game winning field goal a few plays later. So yeah I would say that is a very big time play bouncing back from dropping that touchdown, and shows the ability he has. Then the interception the QB threw, came when a defender made a great play and ripped the ball out of another receivers hands, but hey if you want to put that on the QB go ahead 🤣😂. As I said it’s just a very weird energy you have brought with your comments first in the prediction thread and now this thread. Then you continue that with talking about a drop pass and an interception. Still trying to figure out what point if any you had with your comments both before and now after the game. Very weird. Now I do agree it was an absolutely great game. Highlands loses a lot of great seniors, but also has a lot of good younger talent moving up. So they will be right there battling still these next few years.
  22. Yeah, he probably didn’t run over any of the D1 guys on his way to the end zone. He did have a good game though and is a very good high school player that runs very hard. This is now the second time you have made some kind of cracks at Cooper’s players that do have D1 offers. Which is very bizarre to me, considering they truly do have those offers. So not sure why you seem to go out of your way to make comments like this. First in the prediction thread and now this. One of the D1 guys Alexander scored two touchdowns with multiple Highlands players bouncing off of him as he scored the second touchdown, and multiple stops on defense. The other D1 guy Johnson, Highlands bracketed all game with someone underneath him and over top of him and sometimes 3 guys on him to try to prevent him from having 266 yards receiving like he did in the first game when they tried to single cover him. Then the other D1 guy O’Hara threw two touchdowns, scrambled away from multiple pressures from the D line while Highlands played coverage with 7 or 8 guys dropping to try to take away from the D1 receivers. So obviously Highlands thought very highly of those guys, since their game plan was all about them. Especially after being torched by all three in the first game. Which credit to Highland’s defense because they played a great game and made good adjustments in this one just like Cooper’s defense did in regards to slowing down the Highlands run game in this one.
  23. My bad I forgot about that. So a lower level bowl similar to that one then. Still not much to be excited about in regard to bowl games. Is exciting knocking off Louisville though.
  24. I hope they do hire Stoops. I think he would be crazy to leave UK though. One of the highest paid coaches, and will never be in true jeopardy of losing his job.
  25. Yeah it is slightly better than average as I said lol. Which probably puts us probably in our normal Music City Bowl.
