This isn't college basketball with 351 teams competing for 1 championship. With 6 classes you only have to be the best team out of about 35 to win a championship.

Did Danny Butt play for Pulaski in that first meeting? They seem to have really come on after he got healthy.

Southwestern has had a disappointing season thus far for a team that was ranked at one point. Do they have some injuries?

Doesn't the KHSAA make allowances for the participating teams number of games allowed? It would seem by allowing that it treats it as more than a Christmas tourney.

Danville had a lot of impressive looking athletes. That said they didn't seem very disciplined and, unless they got out on the break, no offensive game plan. They seemed content to pass the ball around the perimeter until someone decided to launch a 3 or drive to the basket. There was about a 5-6 minute stretch in the 2nd half where they hit 5 3s in a row. Otherwise they didn't do much. They look like they should be better than their record.

Final from Somerset. Danville had the lead after 1 quarter. Then it got a little bit chippy. The Admirals tried to get physical with the Briar Jumpers and didn't respond too well when Somerset got physical with them. The Jumpers will take on Washington County in the finals.

I'm sure SW missing Stevens made a big difference in this game. However, if Somerset had Harmon, they, instead of Wayne County, would likely have been in the finals. The Jumpers smoked Wayne last week with Harmon. Southwestern and Somerset at equal strength is a toss up.

Somerset played this week without Trae Harmon as well. He was in Miami for a baseball showcase. Nice start to ttle season for the Jumpers.

Final from the Lake Cumberland Holiday Hoops Classic at Somerset. The surprising Briar Jumpers move to 12-1 and will play the winner of the Wayne County/Christian Academy of Louisville game tomorrow at 6:15pm at Pulaski County.

It's real easy to get them mixed up. A lot of people get upset when pass interference is called on a ball thrown way over a receiver's head or grounding is called on a pass thrown out of bounds but there is no uncatchable or out of the pocket rules in high school either.

High school rules are different than the NFL. I think the fact that it occurred in the end zone is what gives it to the offense. If it happened in the field of play and the defender took it away from him after his feet came down it would have been the defense's ball.

The only "diss" I saw against Van Cleave is doubt about him running a sub-4.3 40. Which he doesn't. I trust a 4.39 laser timed run much more than a hand timed 4.28 at Lindsey Wilson. Still extremely fast, just not world class.

Coach Haywood is a class asst but that didn't make much sense. If Belfry pulled their starters were they only up 14-0 or something? You said the Coach Haywood put his starters back in and scored 3 quick touchdowns. If they only won by 14 did they get behind with their starters out?
