  1. kygirl -- you picked East over Elliott in the 62....I REALLY hope you missed this one too!
  2. Ferguson finishes with 28. Johnson of East finishes, I think, with 25. Evan Faulkner adds 18 for Elliott. Congrats to Elliott!
  3. Elliott Co.- 66 East Carter- 51 East with only 1 field goal in the 4th. Ferguson with 28; Johnson with 25. 1:24 to go.
  4. Elliott Co.- 61 East Carter- 48 East has gone cold in the 4th. Several lost opportunities. Ferguson of Elliott with 26; Johnson of East with 24. 3:45 to go.
  5. After 3 quarters: Elliott Co.- 55 East Carter- 45 Elliott up 53-35, but East goes on 10-2 run to close quarter. Ferguson of Elliott with 25 points.
  6. Elliott Co.- 37 East Carter- 23 Elliott goes on 11-2 run in 2nd quarter. Ferguson banks in a "3" at the halftime buzzer. Ferguson with 16 points; Evan Faulkner with 10 points.
  7. Um...I really think that Montgomery County would have been a better geographic fit into the district than Fleming. From Morehead to Mount Sterling it takes about 30-35 freeway minutes. To Flemingsburg is close to the same time, but on rural two-lane roads. That's just my thinkning...it's not always rational.
  8. Thanks Professor... Glad to be here---and glad to be among those with a team still playing...for now!
  9. Tomorrow's 62nd District Championship puts these two rivals at each end of the court for the third time this season. So far Elliott is 2-1 against the Raiders. I believe that come Friday night they'll improve to 3-1. Anything can happen. Should be fun.. Weigh in.....
  10. I agree that Russell was the better team. Chemistry! In trying not to be defensive, I do feel some poster are being condescending. Being humble in a loss isn't easy to do....but sometimes it's even harder when you win (that speaks to Elliott, Russell, and every school who has ever won a game at anything)! Being a sore loser is no worse than being a sore winner....however, there is no excuse for either.
  11. Kudos to Russell. They did play well...can't say I'm happy about it....none the less they got things done. Elliott looked tired--that's an odd sight for the season. I hope we meet again! Outcome may not be any different, but it would be a heck of a game--like last year's finals. I'm already excited. Hope neither team disappoints!
  12. It's Russell's fault. They beat us. I think the Elliott posters were just trying to give some contributing factors (of which all played a role in the outcome). Everybody does that. Just look at some of the previous posts. ....didn't get as many points because he fouled out and had to change uniforms...... I don't believe that it was anybody's fault. Just a well-executed Russell win. Looking FWD to a rematch sometime (and maybe soon)!
  13. OK, I am having brain freeze or something. Why should 11 and 7 be kept in opposite brackets? "Obviously different reasons," but I can't think of what they may be...a little help would be appreciated!
  14. MBWC41....that's very funny. Nice sense of humor.
  15. I understand. However, almost every time a visiting team walks into ECHS they are complaining about the drive. I know the drive is bad .. especially when most other schools in the 16th are connected by I-64. I even had a conversation with a Greenup parent that wanted Elliott and Morgan moved from the 16th because it would "be more convienent." He even said Elliott should probably be in the 14th????? In any case, the drive is just as bad when we leave Sandy Hook as it is when every other team enters.
  16. People complain about having to come to Sandy Hook (although...thanks to some helpful state legislators the drive is quickly becoming much better), and sometimes use that as an excuse when the lose. However, the drive is usually only once or twice a year for these teams. Every time Elliott leaves Sandy Hook for a road game they get the pleasure of the travel. I have never heard anyone from Elliott say "Gosh that awful bus ride to Ashland really cost us an advantage last year."
  17. Ha .. that's funny. I deserved to be hired too. Probably not to play ball though...
  18. Good point. I want to be there though...Hope it is kinda warm tomorrow!
  19. Does the All-A tourney have a snow plan in place? I don't know the amount of snow forcasted for Richmond--I was just curious. I remember a few years ago they pushed the games back a day ( I think). Anybody have any info?
  20. I believe the 17 point lead would have been in the first quarter...early in the first at that. Also, didn't the same thing happen last year in the championship game at Morehead?? Russell played man that game. Both school have nearly the same teams as last year...and that was a completely a neutral court. I don't see a 9+ point spread ever. If I am wrong, then I'll eat crow. I hope "duck" is the same way. I believe that Elliott takes the next game (at Russell) by 4. Russell gets a lead and then squanders it later in game--only this time, they can't fix it.
  21. Yep.. Looking FWD to the rematch. It should be fun.
  22. Something strikes me as funny. If I remember correctly, Elliott held a 13 point half-time lead. It seems some posters keep mentioning that it was "about a 10 point game in the second half." Again, if I am not mistaken, Elliott held a 19 point lead at the end of the 3rd quarter. If it was "about a ten point game," then it was somewhere early in the 3rd. Elliott never lead by less than 10 at any point in the second half. In my determination, it was about a 29 point game when it ended..ha. Also, the game was rough. Elliott plays aggressively, but not with malice. Greenup plays dirty. Holding uniforms (Last year Ethan Faulkner's uniform was literally shreaded during the Greenup game), very hard fouls, and those elbows. I am not at all impressed with GC coaching, styles, or attitudes. I was very disappointed with them.
