  1. I have seen Doug Beaumont, too! Great player. Great college prospect. This thread is looking for the best "all-around" player in Kentucky. Does Doug Beaumont punt? Does he kick extra points and field goals? Does he throw any passes? I think I can answer my own questions. I still don't think there is a debate in this thread......best "all-around". I love Doug Beaumont, Keith Tandy, and Kaelin Ammons as distant second place "all-around" players.
  2. Why not drop Henry Clay after that defensive performance? Scott County is grossly undervalued in this poll, in my opinion.
  3. .....or too beat up from playing in this tough district to be able to advance!
  4. When the question of best "all-around" player in Kentucky is posed, how can there be any other answer than Henry Clay's Chase Minnifield. He has run for touchdowns, he has caught a pass for a touchdown, he has thrown for touchdowns, he has recovered a fumble for a touchdown, he has intercepted a pass for a touchdown, he tackles, he punts, he kicks extra points and field goals, but no...........he has not yet played the tuba in Henry Clay's marching band nor sold popcorn at the concession stand. This thread is not open for debate........Minnifield in a landslide!
  5. I agree. Two well-coached ballclubs. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the two tailbacks perform. They are both great high school football players.
  6. Obviously, great stat-line for Keith Tandy. What the stat-line does not effectively communicate is the heart this kid has. He has a true "refuse to lose" attitude that will bode well for him as an athlete on the next level. Rich Brooks........get him commited today and find a position to play him next year!
  7. I thought after Bryan Stations big win in their first game against Madison Southern that Coach Oliver Lucas had turned it around in record time. Obviously that is not true. How long will it take Coach Lucas to get the Defenders back to their old selves?
  8. They would not have been the first team in football history to score 50 points and lose a game. Their defense, especially against Tandy's long balls, was atrocious. I will repeat, emphatically........Henry Clay was lucky to win!
  9. Minnifield is playing safety for Henry Clay so I vote for Ben Revere as the top cover corner in the state.
  10. Keith Tandy of Christian County had a career tonight. He gashed the Henry Clay for what seemed like 500 passing yards. He was outstanding! Chase Minniefield runs, catches, throws, kicks, punts, tackles, etc. etc. He is some talented all-around player. Henry Clay was extremely lucky to win.
  11. I would guess there are more than 4 times the number of Division I signees in Ohio than in Kentucky. Anybody out there have the actual numbers? I think Kentucky had 20-25 last year in the entire state. I might bet Cincinnati had numbers approaching those. In my opinion, Trinity and St. X could not play with the Ohio big schools. Don't get me wrong, they are both extremely disciplined and well-coached, but both are outmatched against Ohio's best, big school teams.
  12. Not mentioning all the other factors, Ohio wins hands down in the game of numbers. Nearly 800 high schools playing football versus 200 in Kentucky. How obvious is it that with the population and number of schools advantage alone, Ohio wins in a landslide. Funny thing..........both states will soon have the same number of football classes.......AN UTTER JOKE!
  13. I wouldn't feel comfortable if I predicted a Lexington Catholic win either! Scott County will win the battle up front on both lines, and thus, proceed to win the ballgame.
  14. I don't think it is difficult to make the statement that Cincinnati football is better than Northern Kentucky football. Keep in mind, it probably has a lot to do with the enrollment of the respective schools. Coaching?..... . .Maybe?
  15. I agree. A defensive battle. Many people are predicting a lot of points in this one. I just can't see Dunbar scoring a lot of points with their inept passing attack. Teams ought to play nine in the box against them. They are 10-28 for less than 200 yards passing in three games. Also, 3.3 yards per carry rushing.
  16. "Should" is your operative word! Young teams have a tendency to would've, could've, and should've. I do not see Boyle County favorably matching up with Lafayette.
  17. Just what is the field situation? They seemed to have a very nice bermuda field when I saw them play there.
  18. I just can't see this young Boyle County team beating Lafayette?
  19. If Scott County wins, it will be a shootout. For some reason, they give up a lot of points on defense. I think Scott County wins based on their strength on both the offensive and defensive lines.
  20. Trinity has outstanding facilities. For me, the brick work reminds me of Florida States home field. It is a great place to watch and I am sure, play a football game.
  21. That was intended as a joke. Sorry to have hit a nerve. It was not meant to.
  22. Maybe because you weren't the best football/basketball player ever in Kentucky?
