Not so fast. Scott County still has Phares and Guynn and a host of talented freshmen. I think(regardless of who actually gets to play at Scott County) the 11th will come down to Franklin County, Scott County, Dunbar or LexCath.

How could you not see this coming? I was stunned yesterday when they said one would be eligible. Both in-eligible is what I expected all along.

Scott County does have a great deal of talent, but the 11th region is brutal. I could see Scott County, Dunbar, Franklin County, LexCath, or Tates Creek all having a shot to win it.

After reading this and a lot of the things said above, we might as well cancel the season and mail them the trophy. I, for one, don't think that are untouchable or unstopable, and they still have to play the games. Many teams have looked great from a distance, but when they tip it off in the brutal 11th region things tends to look a bit different. They are the team to beat, but there are a lot of teams within their own region and around the state that will make things tough on them. Nobody in the 11th is going to roll over for them.

Someone just told me that it was not an ACL, but it was lingering knee issues, and that she is expected back on the court in July.

Novosel did not try-out. She has a knee injury. Not sure when she did it, but I think it is an ACL.

I think Slone will make the team, but I doubt Stepp or Setty will. Based on what I heard they didn't look that good at the try-outs, especially Setty. This is a very deep roster this year, so a lot of good players will not be making the Squad.

Western Hills has a lot to replace from this year's squad. They lose 3 starters and their top 8th grader(who is good enough to start varsity) appears to be heading to Scott County. The do return point guard Darius Reed and Center Mike Satterwhite, along with their top 2 subs in JT Riddle and Nolan McGaughey. Reed was alright when he looked to pass the ball, but a bit out of control when he tried to become a scorer. Satterwhite was in the top 10 in the state in rebounding, but often was found on the bench because of foul trouble. They will need to find some scoring our of Riddle and McGaughey and some of their freshmen who dressed varsity last year. I would probably rank them third in the district behind Franklin County and Woodford. FC returns everyone from a team that went 8-0 against district opponents on their way to the championship this past season. Woodford has some talent returning and will probably be a little ahead of Western Hills.

That's never been a secret. Not only does his brother play football there, but his dad is on staff there as well. The plan has always been to go there.

Barrett Meyer of Franklin County was the best player in the 41st this season.

The KABC is the Kentucky Associaiton of Basketball Coaches. The votes for each region's coach and player of the year awards are made by coaches from each region. So only 9th region coaches voted for the 9th region award.

I don't think it changes things. Mason lost to Scott County and Bryan Station during the season. LexCath beat both those teams like a drum in the Regional Tournament. They have to be the favorite! Doesn't mean they are going to win it all, but they are the favorite entering the tourney.

Eastern(28-5) vs. Jeffersontown(25-5) for the right to go to Rupp. Should be a great game. Eastern won 63-60 over J-Town at Eastern on January 11th and Eastern also won in the District finals 68-66. Who wins?
