  1. The Defenders played the way they are capable and Scott Co came out simply flat. The 11th region will be one to remember this season because of the there are so many good teams.
  2. Where are they playing this game at?
  3. We have to get Antonio through Junior college first. It will never happen as far as coming to KY. It would be another Stockton on the bench as far as I can see.
  4. Harrison had no legs underneath them. Scott Co ran them to death. I am sure fatigue played a part in some of that fiasco.
  5. Scott Co's Bud Mackey with 28 points and set the fourth period as did all the starters. The Cardinals go to 16-2 and Harrison 9-9.
  6. If you are gonna win the 8th you gotta make three long trips to Henry Co. Good Luck!
  7. That's no girl that is a nice lady who knows her b-ball.
  8. What are you talking about recoup is it not normal to play on Tuesday after a Friday night game travel or no travel. You are making it sound like the loss to Oldham was degrading to the Pioneers. With fifteen wins they have played some good basketball. I will say that SK schedule is better but still Oldham always plays good basketball. Should not be embarassed of the loss. Everyone thinks that Shelby is a lock in this region. I think if SK is healthy they can take them.
  9. Looks like the cats have to watch their backs now. These two teams match up great. I would say maybe Clark Co's schedule may have prepared them for this game.
  10. It was kind of a game that had a lot going for it. There was probably around only 1000 there. For a Scott Co game this is bad. For Lexington its a huge crowd. After the weekend it was like ok we have another game from the crowds perspective. P. Gifford probably only played half the game. Did not start. Leslie had a big game as well as Wilkerson in the second half. Thompson for Scott co was injured and may miss one more game. I can honestly say the regions best defensive player. Portwood sat out half the third as well as the fourth quarter with an injury. Lafayette would make a run and Scott Co answered everyone. It was scary to see the future of this team with four sophomores and one junior on the floor tonight for alot of the time for the Cardinals. The 11th region tournament is the state tournament as far as I am concerned. Yeah no recognition but the battle scars. There are 8 teams that have a shot at the 11th region crown.
  11. All-Tourrnament Team Matt Walls, Scott Co. Bud Mackey, Scott Co. Rodney Haddix, Scott Co. Tyler Portwood, Scott Co. Todd Atcher, Elizabethtown Steffphon Pettigrew, Elizabethtown Aaron Miller, Henry Clay Sam Lawson, Dixie Heights Doug Beaumont, L'ville Male Kevin Allen, North Oldham Billy Carson, North Laurel Phil Schambach, Simon Kenton
  12. Another first-timer showing his hate. It would be great to start off a little different. Rule #2 No disparaging, taunting, or boastful comments especially between opponents trying to intimidate each other.
  13. The only home cookin in this tournament is in the Hospitality room.
  14. Trust me Bill has gave the refs in the 8th the last 10 years alot of grief . I can't see them showing the cards to much love either. I wonder how many teams complain on the homecookin when they lose the close ones at your place. I hear it all the time and I have heard from Hicks. No one likes to lose those kind of games. Why the excuses. Since I watch about 100 games a week. I here it at every level. Its no different than a small kids game. Everyone thinks their team should get every close call as every every fan never looks at the call that they got that should of been the other way around. I am sure if the schools or coaches thought that they were getting the shaft they would not venture down here so much. But they keep coming back because of the competition, the atmosphere and the benifits of a tournament in late January. Whats up Les!
  15. Kleenex please! I have been every year to this tournament since it started. I have to say. In 1990 was not a good called tournament but the rest have been good. I have seen nothing different that I have seen at other tournaments. Its well run as well officiated. What do people expect the host team to play the toughest team in the tournament the first night. You gotta sale some tickets guys. This tournament is a heck of money maker. It pretty much funds all the other sports in the school except boys and girls basketball and football. It sure beats the crap out bingo. Never been to the Hicks Classic wheres that at in Western Ky.
  16. The Cardinals were up by 23 points with about 5 and a half minutes to go in the 4th period and they fell asleep and The Defenders went on a 10-0 run. You take that away and Scott Co looked pretty good tonight. Great Defense and Scott Co's size hurt Stations transition game.
  17. I agree. If they can get a little more from the bench that would help.
  18. DH played a great game. Scott co was cold tonight from the field. Could not set up in their press and thats how they beat you to death on turnovers. I am impressed with the coaching style of Heights coach. Good job. The Colonels was down five with 5 minutes to go. It seems they have done this all year can not finish strong.
  19. True, Go back to Hicks first year 95, 96, 98, 99, 2000,2004. That is pretty dominant. Ah, Anderson in 97.
  20. The loss to Catholic may have been the best thing for Scott Co. Just showing up did not work. Yeah Scott Co has the athletes and the talent but thet still have to play well to win at Mason. Two of the states best sophomores battle it out. Mackey and Miller the two front runners for 2008 Mr. Basketball will be fun to watch.
  21. You should allways expect this when they play. Great game!
  22. Alot of mountain teams have to set in that statue zone because some schools do not have the quickness to gaurd the teams in the cities.
  23. Its all good what you do in the out of state tournaments to play great competition. It is still different when you come home. In other years maybe but not this year. South rolls in this region. I am sure if you went to the tournament that SL was in you would see what basketball and good coaching means to Ky kids compared to some of your so-called elite high school teams around the country. The state of Ky does not get the good recognition because we do not produce the McDonalds All- Americans. I will say you can take Kentuckys top ten teams in any year and they will compete with anyone in the country. Better coached and they play with heart and as a team.
