You mean the good times when we used to lose the Apple Bowl on a pretty much yearly basis? I think the good times are here NOW, my friend.

My count has him at 1136, based on the newspaper reports. If Central reported stats, he'd easily be in the top rushers at about 189 yards per game (roughly). I imagine he'd also be in the scoring leaders as well.

And JC's average score against those opponents? 44.5 - 9.8 points per game. I know we haven't exactly played the NFC East here, but it's not like we haven't been doing exactly what we were supposed to with them, either.

There will be lots of little Golden Eaglets watching. They occasionally need a big, gaudy reminder of what colors they want to wear when they grow up.

The sky is the limit. That, and the second half running clock.

There are a couple of people in this game who stand a chance of getting nasty, season-ending hand and wrist injuries...namely, the scoreboard operator and the reporters writing down the touchdown plays as they happen. I won't name a score. I'll leave it up to the coaching staff to do that.

I know we lost at least two, and possibly three, and had other one that we dropped and recovered ourselves. BC threw one interception and lost one fumble toward the end of the game.

This time, he means the Tigers of Paintsville, the team we play next week. We'll get around to the other felines in due time. We also have some Musketeers to work on before that. Patience, patience. Blake Johnson carrying the football like the freight train he is was the difference in the second half tonight, I thought. He wore down the Lions, and after that, some mammoth holes opened for our offense. Couple of times tonight, he looked like Santa Claus dragging a bunch of kids on his back at Christmas for fifteen and twenty yards at a time. The Lions played one of the better first halves of any opponent we've had this season. We helped them out a lot. When we cut out our mistakes and don't put the football on the ground, Central has the potential to be a pretty special high school football team.

You just have to beat everybody in the press box to the food when they bring it. That's the hard part. Go Eagles.

You know Bill Musick wasn't running any to begin with. And Clay County didn't have to.

It happened. Central vs. Clay County at Eagle Field. It was one of our worse years, and one of Clay County's best. I think Clay was up 35-0 when they finally decided to call it off. You couldn't see the players at all from the stands, even with binoculars. I'm guessing the players were having a tough time seeing each other on the field. It was surreal.

I doubt they are the only ones in Kentucky who would disagree. I doubt that by a long shot. But since Johnson Central has very few football/basketball players, their disagreement would mean much less than it would at certain other, smaller schools in the 15th Region, or across the state.

As of 4:12 PM, Paintsville Standard Time, it continues to not rain. The sun is actually out. Rain I can deal with. We can play in the rain. Lightning is the only thing that makes me nervous about cancellation. That being said, we once did have a game called off in the third quarter for fog off the creek, but that game was pretty much over already.

Present and accounted for. I suspect a couple of other people from this household will be there too.

Just don't let 'em know where you're from. :sssh: The Eagle Grill burgers really are that good, though. It's almost worth risking your life to get one on a good night. :thumb:

The date circled on just about everybody in Johnson County's calendar since this year's JCHS football schedule was released. And there will always be those among us who continue to stir that field goal pot on here, but the majority of Eagle players and fans are going to let our cheering and our playing tacitly express our collective opinion on the field that night.

I personally wouldn't mind if the next ten games this season have results like the first five had. :thumb:

WYMT estimated the Apple Bowl crowd last year at 6000-7000, if I remember correctly. There was a lot of standing room only that game. You'd also have to believe the WYMT estimate, but I don't doubt that it was well over listed seating capacity for that game.

From where I was standing tonight, the offensive line was the difference in this game. Grimm was in the secondary on most of his carries before he was ever touched. And how about Dennis Dillon throwing the ball tonight??? Great work on defense, especially by Michael Tackett and Craig Hampton. Those two are playing like men possessed. Great team effort from the Golden Eagles, period. Seen plenty of blowouts in Louisa in the past, but it's nice to see the big number on the visitors' side of the scoreboard tonight and not the zero like all those seasons before. Good effort by the Bulldogs. Backs ran hard. Boone Goldsmith throws a decent ball. If he can stop getting his passes batted down at the line, he looks to be a promising young quarterback. Let's get out there and take care of the Lions next Friday and keep the momentum rolling.

I don't know that they would've played better, but they certainly would've saved a lot of money. Those were some nice buses. Perhaps they were treating their journey to Paintsville as a field trip, or a vacation of some sort? They should've at least taken those boys to the Mountain Homeplace and let them take turns milking a real cow or something.

There's this guy...ya know...this friend of mine... But enough about that. Congrats Ashland. We'll be waiting for ya' at Eagle Field. Looks like we'll need to pack a lunch for that one.

Do they have many difficult names? Perhaps a certain PA announcer I know will have to scout their roster before they come to Johnson County to prevent errors.
