Final

Great game defensively for the Golden Eagles.

The Lions did not score an offensive touchdown. Their first score came on the opening kickoff 94 yards for the TD. Their final score came on the first play of the second half when Ian Welch fumbled...BC picked it up and took it in from 25 yards out.

Three fumbles in the game for the Golden Eagles all of which were recovered by Boyd County. Two of those came on the sloppy end of the field.

For the game...

JC 13 First Downs

BC 6 First Downs

total offense

BC 136 yards

JC 476 yards

Shawn Grimm 216 yards 4TD

Chase Richardson 115 yards 1 TD

Time Now to get ready for the Cross-Creek Massacre. JC has already slayed the Lions...the Kittens should be no problem.

Here Kitty Kitty

JC was only 4 yards away from averaging 10 yards per play.

Lets not get ahead oh ourselves. I think Ashland might have something to say about that.

Good win by the way.

I think he is referring to another breed of "hometown cats" that they go up against next week.

I think you might need to re-read the post. I wasn't talking about Ashland. Next up for Johnson Central is Paintsville (the Tigers...hence the Kitty Kitty reference)

Isn't it just like an Ashland fan to think everything revolves around them?

Were do I begin... Boyd County came to play! They were ready for the challenge. A couple of big plays was what broke their backs, they never quit. JC played solid both ways... a couple to stupid mistakes almost let BC back in the game. JC's defense played with fury! Josh Gordouze had a blocked punt. And I think the kitty kitty is meant for the tigers!

This time, he means the Tigers of Paintsville, the team we play next week.

We'll get around to the other felines in due time. We also have some Musketeers to work on before that. Patience, patience.

Blake Johnson carrying the football like the freight train he is was the difference in the second half tonight, I thought. He wore down the Lions, and after that, some mammoth holes opened for our offense. Couple of times tonight, he looked like Santa Claus dragging a bunch of kids on his back at Christmas for fifteen and twenty yards at a time.

The Lions played one of the better first halves of any opponent we've had this season. We helped them out a lot. When we cut out our mistakes and don't put the football on the ground, Central has the potential to be a pretty special high school football team.

I believe JC had 3 fumbles tonight... and Tommy Taylor picked off a BC pass, is this correct?

I know we lost at least two, and possibly three, and had other one that we dropped and recovered ourselves. BC threw one interception and lost one fumble toward the end of the game.

I knew you'd have my back BE...

I was really impressed with Chase Richardson and Blake Johnson, "Dont go ridin' on that long black train!"

Very true. However, I believe tonight's mistakes may be a blessing in disguise.I have a feeling that Coach Matney and the staff gained some new fuel to add to the fire this week in practice. I know he will point out the mistakes this week. As a coach you are always looking for new angles to get through to your players. When everything is going smoothly it can sometimes be difficult to get through to your players because they are having so much success.

I'm not implying that this is a problem for Johnson Central. However, I believe that tonight's mistakes will lead to a strong second-half run.
