  1. He did have Travis Atwell in the late 90's at Hancock County, and they went to the spread when it was the cool thing to do (Mumme Ball). I'm sure he'll do what needs to be done to be productive at Male.
  2. I heard that Mike Griffiths from Green County turned down the head coaching job this morning. Taylor County had planned a press conference this morning to announce Griffiths as their next head coach. Apparently, Griffiths has decided to stay at Green County.
  3. I'll continue to keep him and the Monroe family in my prayers....
  4. I would think everyone wants to stay and watch the greatest two teams in Kentucky....
  5. Albany's Steakhouse--- On Campbell Lane, right across the road from Bowling Green Jr. High. Get the Spicy Chicken Platter. Best in town. Has Rafferty's food for below Rafferty's price. (5-6 minutes away from stadium) Double Dogs-- Scottsville Road. Sports Bar. The Double Bacon Cheeseburger is huge. (Across town, but it's on the closest side of the stadium on Scottsville Road) Smoky Pig--- Corvette exit. Head into Bowling Green. Will be on your left. Get the Shoulder plate. If you are a man, ask for it to be "dipped". (Hit this place up before you come to the game. If you are into tailgating, they will have plenty of BBQ, sauce, white bread, sides, but the shoulder is unreal!!!:thumb:
  6. The whole attendance argument is a "non-issue"... How much money do the teams playing in the state finals get?..... NADA... Other than it being an inconvenience for those fans that have to travel, what's the point of the argument?? WKU was the ONLY place to put out a bid for the state finals. The atmosphere will be unbelievable for the state finals. It will at least look packed... I, along with all the true high school football fans, have traveled to Louisville every year, stayed in the hotels, visited the restaurants, etc. If it was held at PJS this year, I'd be doing it again. But, its not. It's in Bowling Green. High school football is not (or I guess I should say, should not) be about money...ever... Also, somebody said the kids around the Louisville area (Male, Manual, etc.) probably won't be able to go.... Don't you think the kids at Bowling Green, Warren Central, Warren East, Greenwood, Allen County, Franklin Simpson, Russellville, Logan County, Edmonson County, Grayson County, Barren County, Glasgow, Monroe County, Metcalfe County, Butler County would like a better chance to go to the games? I'll guarantee they'll be there!!!
  7. College coaches could care less about a kid's high school stats. They are looking at speed, size, reaction, agility, etc. With that being said, I believe everybody should keep their stats updated as best as possible.
  8. Actually, the easiest thing the KHSAA could have done was to allow Muhlenberg County to play in 4A for one cycle. Then, there would be no schedule changes, no 3 team districts, etc. The only thing you would have had, was a bunch of people chanting "Mercer County". Although, I think the Mustangs would not have been the mega power that the Titans were.
  9. The play is dead... holder has knee on ground when he recovers the blocked field goal.
  10. No rule on this. It might be frowned upon by some, but it happens everywhere. Basketball coaches are the worst. I've never understood them anyway. They usually will never trade with each other. They make each other call every other team and beg for film. At least football coaches (for the most part) will trade with each other....
  11. Prayers from all over BG will be sent.
  12. Times can always be disagreed upon. But, half a second is tough to argue. No doubt he is quick and could possibly be a 4.8 guy, but for a timer to miss twice (I assume they ran two 40's), is tough to do.
  13. Me too. No official word, but rumor is that he will not be named. Another board talks like something went down, but did not speculate on what happened.
  14. Has Union County hired a football coach yet?
  15. What is going on at Union County?
  16. Some rumors floating around the area. Anybody heard of a resignation?
  17. Uh... Did you say that Fort Campbell scrimmaged in the spring???
  18. Move spring football to May or June. Better weather. Many programs cannot use baseball players anyway. Plus, if colleges are allowed to visit some May/June scrimmages, it would allow our football players a little more exposure. Don't mean to step on any other June sports that are either 6 or 9 months away from playing their first game....:puke:
