If they weren't going to do a one-time realignment to put someone else in that district, why didn't the KHSAA use one of the tiebreaker scenarios it has to determine which 4A fifth-place squad gets that last "lucky loser" spot.

No idea. Like I said, I was surprised they didn't do something. Even if it was a minimal as sending Warren East to the playoffs as a fifth team from District 2 to offset only three from District 1. It could have been Warren East at AC/S in the first round and I don't think many would have batted an eye.

 

Just another way that the KHSAA is raising your level of enjoyment with 6 classes.

Jim, I think you answered your own question. ACS is getting punished by losing a home game concessions, ect...

I know that Greenwood and South Warren (I think that's the new school's name) will move into Class 4A District 1 next year. What I don't understand is why Logan County, the school furthest west in District 2, wasn't moved into District 1 to even things out at four teams each. Next season you could put one of the Warren County schools in District 1 and the other in District 2, and it would just be a one year thing. The next big realignment would take care of matters after that.

 

And I don't want to hear from the KHSAA that the Muhlenberg County thing happened too late. They were talking about it at least around Christmas of last year. It was no different than dropping Holmes from 5A to 4A; those schools made their schedules work and so would Region I of 4A.

Actually, the easiest thing the KHSAA could have done was to allow Muhlenberg County to play in 4A for one cycle. Then, there would be no schedule changes, no 3 team districts, etc.

 

The only thing you would have had, was a bunch of people chanting "Mercer County". Although, I think the Mustangs would not have been the mega power that the Titans were.

Apparently South Warren won't be part of the equation. This story from the Daily News says that school won't be ready to play in '10:

The districts in central Ky change every year (or atleast the last 3). Why can't this have been changed at the start of the year? This makes absolutely no sense! Its like when they first went to 6A the plan was for Harlan Co. to be 6A and be in a district with Madison Central, Scott Co, and Shelby Co. I believe. That would have been ridiculous!
