Far be it from me to interject a few facts into this argument, but did any of you actually read the report? I did and all of the infractions were committed by either over zealous school administrators or untenured teachers who wanted to be hired back the following year. Whether the guy has two families is a moral issue for sure, but legally it is irrelevant. The only thing remotely shady was the fact that he ran football camps and used the school facilities without reimbursing the school. There was nothing in the schools or BOE's by-laws that restrict him from doing so. Once again, it was perfectly legal. I also felt that based on the MTV show the guy was crooked, and if the truth be known he probably is, but to try and use the impropriaties discovered at the school to depose the coach doesn't hold water with me. The report and it's findings are readily available on the net. I myself found it by using a link in one of the other Hoover High thread. Read and let me know if I missed something. BTW - 93,000 for a football only coach in Alabama or Texas is far from unheard of. They take it much more serious down there then we do.

Without a doubt, the answer is yes. This school will compete in all the same V sports the the other three BC schools currently compete in.

In principle that sounds great, and in principle that was Ryle's game plan last night too. Before anyone gets their panties in a bunch, Don't. I'm only having a bit of fun. It was a great win by the Blue Colonels.:thumb:

Knock on wood..... but I honestly think that for the last three weeks they have been getting better and better. Their almost where I thought we would be before the bye week.:lol:

The week before in the BC game they did. Number 25 was awesome (his name escapes me right now). They have a nice passing attack IMO. Dixie however was prepared for every facet of their game and that Sorrel was spot on with his defensive signals.

Believe it or not, they were it. Sounds like the coaching staff got their lunch handed to them a little to me. BC is a better team then that. I'm sure Coach Thompson will right the ship. He's a good coach and a quality man.

:lol: How can a team that consistently calls a 1/1 ratio between pass and run abandon it's passing game so quickly when things go bad? I know Deucette is their best receiver, but they do have two other receivers besides Farris who can catch the ball. Oh, well not my problem and not the right thread for that one. GO COLONELS!

I may be mistaken, but I don't remember the old Offensive scheme only throwing the ball 11 times in a game. Heck BC throws the ball more than that. On a side note, I think that's close the the Ryle QB's attempts tonight though. :lol: JK Great win Colonels! I knew that you would be rolling by seasons end.

A little birdie told me that Cov Cath put in a whole new offense this week, funny how that happens when BB comes back.:lol: I would bet the play calling is pretty close to what you are describing.

Not to mention that they are Dixie's next opponent.

That would be senior running back Marty Maloney. He epitomizes what what Dixie Football is all about. The kid is tough as nails and as humble as the day is long. One things certain about Marty, he gives 100% on every down and has been a joy to watch over the last 4 years. In all honesty though, it is probably more truthful to say that this is the way we Dixie fans expected our team to play all year. I'm glad to see that we are finally hitting our stride.:thumb::thumb:

I wish that we could take the good HHS's football stadium and the good of our new complex and roll them together. Now that would be an unparralleled field!

I didn't say that, but I will say that if you believe that HHS has the best field in the state that that is exactly what I am saying. Nice for the home team? OK. But for the visitors you must be joking. :lol::lol::lol:

I haven't seen a nicer facility from top to bottom anywhere in NKY and quite possibly the state than Dixie and I am not saying that as a homer. It stands right up there with anywhere in the state. Now if you like a field because it is your home field such as HHS thats one thing, but as far as entire complexes go very few compare to the Colonels.

Are you sure you can't go back and find me 16 more points some where? oh well, that's what i get for being a homer a couple of those weeks.:jump:

Not trying to be argumentative but what is it called then? I've always thought of that type of block as a legal cut block and much more than that, the PROPER way to do a cut block. It is a safe way to take out the defender IMO. The ones that I see called are just flat out dangerous. You could easily end someones carreer by going after their knees. I've seen it happen.

I watched this game again today on TV. Awesome job by both sides. Either squad can go away feeling good about the way their team played. Can't wait to see the rematch!

Yeah to be honest, I would much rather be back in four A. I love the district we had and the rivalries be were building not just within our district but without. I'm still getting used to this new classification thing but it doesn't have the same taste in my mouth. Whoever heard of playing for the district title in week four.:irked:

I don't know about revenge, but I do think that the Colonels need to keep an eye on the prize. Ryle, and CC are quality oponents to get us better. Don't get hung up in the win/loss thing. Keep working on the small stuff. Offense, our passing game needs consistency and Joey needs to continue working the MIDDLE of the field and his recievers need to stop dropping balls. You're a three year starter Joe, relax and let yourself play like it.The ten to fifteen yard crossing and hitches, the slants and digs, not just the fly and bubble screens. Where is the swing pass and middle screen BTW? Defense, you need to do your job and make a tackle. Our LB's have gotten pushed around all year. Do your job and you will be in position to make a play. Most of the time it seems our LB's are putting themselves out of position on their own. Also the O line's are attacking them which means our DL is one on one and need to get off their blocks better to force them to double them. DB's on a third and long DON'T let anyone beyond you, don't play the QB play the reciever. Especially safeties or CB's in cover one. Keep the play in front of you. Your first responsiblility is the big play. Ryle likes to run the post corner, hitch and go and they do it great. Don't fall for it. Make them earn it and don't give it away. No need to panic Colonels, just keep pluggin away and no matter what in three weeks we'll be fine. In four week's we'll be even better. Teams win, individuals loose. Do your job and trust your team mates to do theirs. my last BTW - great win last Friday team and keep the momentum going.

I think that Tom will do exactly what you and shooter are hoping for. IMO he's already doing that as is evidenced by the 48-7 victory over Scott which most said would be a low scoring affair. I've never known him to panic when things aren't going well like others do. He usually just works harder at finding solutions. I doubt that he doesn't know anything we do, just that his approach to a resolution is slightly different. I have seen him work miracles in the past and am hoping for a similar outcome. Being a head coach is a huge responsibility, especially when expectations of the alumni and fans are so great and the outcomes are determined by 15,16, and 17 year old kids. Tom always has a game plan that is setting something up that we will need in three, four, or five weeks away, the problem is the kids don't always execute it the way it's drawn up. So he goes back to the well and starts over the next week. If your Dixie, you have to feel that this is where we knew we were going to be since day one. We start slow every year and we have the two most important games of the season in the first four weeks. A two seed is realistic. Next we set our sights on a district championship and a state title. Both of which are doable if the kids keep plugging away and working on their deficiencies. There are a few kids on each side of the ball who need to continue to step up and play better. All they have to do is ask themselves, "How do I want to be remembered?" If they answer the question correctly, the rest will take care of itself.
