St. Charles would get waxed by quite of few of the teams Dixie played. And besides We BEAT NCC in the Super Bowl already once this year. Boone, Ryle, SK and CC are quality teams, not to mention in class 6A. We've also played Beechwood and CCH once too, or did you forget about that. I concede that your schedule was tougher, but we didn't exactly play WV's JV team all year either.

:lol::lol: I would never say that, we take CCH very seriously. They are a proven winner and like I knew would be the case, their team has pulled together and are poised to make a deep playoff run. I'm just trying to paint a more colorful picture thru my Rose colored glasses for the rest of my Dixie brethren. It's been a while since CCH or HHS has face a Dixie team in the playoffs. The two of you have only had to contend with each other for quite a while now and I just want to make sure that not only the Blue Colonels, but also the Blue Birds realize that this isn't a two horse race anymore. Dixie plays their best football in the playoffs, not in week 3 or 4. If they can live up to half the hype going into this season, I'm going to look like a genius come 10:00 PM on Friday night. The play of Benson and the DB's are going to be big key's for our success this week. If the LB's do their jobs and don't take themselves out of position we will controll the line of scrimmage. Our OLB's and DB's need to get on the same page and for pete's sake, don't let recievers behind you on 3rd and LONG! If we do that and play our game, we win IMO.

He's one of the best RB's I've seen and it doesn't help to have the line and system he plays under either.

Mitchell Jet - Dixie - 39 XP 10 FG The kid could EASILY start at WR, TB, or DB and he can fly. Has made multiple tackles in the kicking game. The kid likes to hit so I'm sure that is why he doesn't see much time on O or D. Unfortunately for him, he is too valuable. I would hazard a guess and say that he has put up similar stats the last two years as well. He has to be one of the leading scorers in school history.

Dixie and three other teams.

Special teams units other than kick off Dixie is far ahead and Jett has been known to kick into the end zone once in a while. Defensively.... well you may have a glass that could hold water, but then again CCH isn't exactly a jugernaut.

Don't waste your breath nees. I wouldn't expect Highlands fans to have any other expectation. Their team has been number one so long in their district that to most of them it's a given. But the fact remains that both CCH and HHS graduated big senior classes and were unproven. Dixie however returned a huge senior laden team of which most have been starting since they were sophmores.

I don't think this is accurate. Dixie has been playing football since teams wore leather helmets. Also they have been in the playoffs every year since at least 98 and have gone to the regional final more than once.

As much as I would like to give this line of reasoning credence, I think that drawing conclusions from these two teams first meetings are meaningless. Both squads have improved, but the difference IMO is that Dixie is finally playing like most of us knew they could from day one. With that said, I think that it would be a fair statement to say that prior to the first snap of the season most HHS and CCH supporters were saying that Dixie was the team to beat this year in our district. Now I realize that results from the regular season will change most people's opinions and rightly so, but Dixie and CCH are EXACTLY where I said they would be. The Blue Colonels may be planing on riding on the back of BB but we have MM, and he ain't too shabby either. Bottom line.... Dixie will win the rematch, though not by as much. Dixie plays a ground control clock game now too, and also has two studs in the back field. Come to think of it, these teams mirror each other skill wise very nicely, with Bricking garnering a slight edge in the QB spot IMO. Each teams defensive secondaries have issues as well so it should be interesting to say the least. This one is going to be fun to watch. Either way it goes the winner should be fully prepped to take on Highlands the following week.

Altough I believe you entirely, I just want to voice my disagreement with this rule. To do what Bricking did IMO was a smart football play. He had a reciever coming back towards him that the ball skipped of the ground to and hit. Has the rule always been such or is it just that it is being stressed more lately? I've seen this penalty called more then once in the last few years but don't really remember seeing it much before then.

Aside from being sore, I would think he is ok. The injury happened at the end of the second quarter and he played the entire second half. I watched him come out with a noticeable hitch in his gitty up for the warmup, but never noticed it after that.

That is incorrect. Detmer was going for the ball but the defender never established himself as a receiver. His back was turned to the ball the whole time. I admit that it looked to me that there was contact before the catch, but I'm not sure you will get a passs interference call when the defender never turns around to make an attempt at the ball. Maybe a ref can explain that one. Regardless Dixie was well up on the Camels at that point. It's funny that in all your examples you never listed the intentional grounding call on Bricking in the second half. The kid made a purely veteran move to avoid a sack. For those who may have missed it, the ball was thrown at the feet of a receiver who was coming back to the ball, while the Dixie QB had been flushed outside of the tackle box . Granted the receiver was 10 yards away from the spot where the ball landed, but he was clearly Joey's intended target. Maybe a ref can also inform on that one. Are QB's aloud to throw the ball away to avoid a sack outside the tackle box?

I agree with that, also the six even classes fixed nothing. A real solution would be to come up with a smaller 6 and 1 A. After all those were the classes that started this whole thing. I will wait untill after the champions are determined though to lock in my vote. You never know what will happen once the teams start playing.

I agree about the announcer and owe the camel fans and Mr. Rose an apology. He is not the announcer that I thought he was when I posted a negative response a few years ago. He was a complete joy IMO. If you saw and heard the hit on #34 it was massive. Both players were shook up on the play but he got the worst of it. He kept trying to get up but his legs and arms didn't seem to work. Speaking from experience I am sure he had a concussion and wouldn't be surprised if he thought he was bat man most of the first half. It was a good decision not to let him back in IMO, even if it was senior night. #33 was the best least used weapon on the CC offense IMO.

I thought the final score was 45-13? Did they have a penalty on Brock's TD? I walked out when he scored it.

Great game Colonels! Keep pluggin' away as this is no time to get complacent. The defensive secondary and the OLB's need to work on their coverages for sure. I loved the pressure on the QB tonight. CC had to roll out the QB if they wanted to keep him from being flat on his back. Their QB threw a nice ball and made good decisions but when you keep 8 in to block and still can't hold of the rush its hard to complete a pass. When Marty got bent up and knocked out of the game my heart stopped for a minute, but in true Colonel fashion he got back up and a few minutes later came back in the game. Why they kept him in so long when the game was out of reach I will never understand. He's far to important to this team to take another chance with. The O still doesn't work the middle of the field with anything other than a slant or a post and those throws were late IMO. Dixie needs to put in a dig route in the worst way. Conner Brock stepped up big time and CC had no answer for him. I like our chances next week but it's going to be a war! So strap it on and punch the clock boys, the CCH team your facing is as good as any team you've faced all year. BTW - on behalf of all the colonel fans thanks for a very enjoyable evening. The score got lopsided but all in all it was a very entertaining game. Hard hitting, 100 percent effort on both sides. CC has a lot to be proud of. They had a nice game plan for the most part and were in it most of the way.
