  1. 12:01 is when you can put on pads. If you do it before 12:00 and warmup it's illegal.
  2. Not much you can do when you got one coach that allows and encourages this stuff.
  3. Strengthening Neck Muscles Helps Prevent Concussion | BrainLine Watch the 30 for 30 on the Chicago Bears. Listen to McMahan when he goes to these specialist. Every doctor he had looked at the head, but FINALLY a educated doctor looked at his neck and fixed the spinal C-1 thru 4 vertebrae and got all the fluid stuck there to drain. Jim McMahan said his vision cleared up and so did his headaches. Yes, the neck has a TON to do with concussion. Yes concussions are mindset. I got dizzy as well. My frontal lobe felt like it was going to explode at times. I took care of myself when they happened. NO TV, NO Lights. If you do go outside wear sunglasses. Alot of trainers and doctors forget to protect the eyes from the bright stadium lights. NO you can't prevent a concussion, but you can reverse the side effects by taking care of it early.
  4. Yes. I know I had several. I took care of myself in the weightroom. I did neck machines and hyper extensions to help. I used my mouthpieces correctly When I did I put myself in a dark room
  5. NEVER had one. I had a ton of headaches. Just got over them. It's a mindset. Some people never got dropped on their head as a baby. We had a great coach that worked our backs and necks during workouts.
  6. OB Catholic and Mayfield will be another good matchup.
  7. Zach Barnard was not starting QB. Kyle McGraw was. I hate inaccurate information
  8. They were very very good up front. I do remember Coach Hogg dying that summer. I think it was the teams MO that year
  9. I think their strength is QB-WR-RB on O. Warren, Williams, Hamilton, Mills, Gray, and Todd will score some points. If Warren can be mobile. He can be the next team Nintendo QB. DL-LB-OLB on D. Nick Blair coming back this year at LB is making this D better. He had 124 tackles his sophomore year. Oh yea the Boarman kid was playing right next to him. Big pickup for OC. I think this can be a great year for OC.
  10. People in Ky care about football? That's weird.
  11. Owensboro Catholic will be there. There are some Lexington schools like Lafayette, Bryan Station, Tate's Creek, Lex Cath, and LCA. Some central or eastern ky schools. The rest are from Ohio and a few WKY schools
  12. "The Education of a Coach" is a great one. "How good do you want to be"
  13. One last thing... I asked the last couple kids that recently played at Catholic baseball who played for the same travel coach never heard of this kid. Thats not a good sign.
  14. I don't know the kid. Do you? I've dealt with this a 100 times. How many times have you? None probably. You don't be a starter since sophomore year and pass for all those yards and just quit. Again! Someone(travel coach) has given him bad advice. He was going to play until a week before the dead period. Why quit now? Oh the travel coach told him.
  15. Because I know travel ball coaches that tell them if they don't play they won't get a scholarship. My advice to the kid is simple. I have 6 reasons on page 1 that tells him why he should play. Nothing against Murray State, but UL and WKU are better baseball programs and those guys excelled in those programs. Also, those guys were told by his SAME travel ball coach to not play football. Those kids didn't listen to him. He also told them they would lose their scholarships. UL coach said don't listen to that guy. THe REALLY SUCCESSFUL baseball coaches in college and MLB want football kids. The reason is they believe they can fight through pain as a opposed to a kid not use to it. This kid loves football, hell he has thrown for thousands of yards and before the "Scholarship" offer he loved it. Why now does he not love it? I've done this for 18 years. I deal with travel baseball coaches who can't get coaching jobs in high school. This kid is being told bad advice. AGAIN, the decision was not his. It's just not travel baseball coaches either. I've seen AAU basketball coaches say the same thing before football season. Here's the kicker....The kid quits football cause they "don't want to get hurt", then they get hurt in basketball and baseball. Weird!!!
  16. Louisville- Trinity, Male, X, CAL, Central. ( DeSales if you want to put them anywhere) Central/Lex- Lafayette, Scott Co, Lex Cath, Corbin, ?? WKY- BG, Mayfield, McCracken, Christian, and( Hop-town, Oboro Catholic, or Owensboro High)
  17. Louisville is hands down the best area. If you don't think so, it's simple...schedule them.
  18. Great job ATL Louisville NKY WKY EKY CKY/LEX SKY
  19. NO DOUBT Hoptown B-Ball fan, and AGAIN! This kid is not making the decision. It's his travel ball coach.
  20. I know kids that love football, but when an adult tells them, "hey man! If you quit football and go all summer-fall, you will dominate your senior year on baseball." Again those 6 kids that played at Owensboro Catholic played at Louisville and ALL of them played in the college World Series. With this kid, we're talking about EKU and Murray State. Give me a break!! Bottom line. A "snake" ( NOT snakesnot) gave the kid bad advice.
  21. He's a really good QB, but given bad advice by his travel ball coach. I'm familiar with the travel ball coach. I had to deal with him all the time. It's sad these bad travel coaches mess with 17-18 kids. That's why they can't get coaching jobs on high school or colleges.
  22. Retirement pay + Private school pay= good money. How do you guys not see that? Maybe him being asst will allow him to see his daughter play more.
  23. Again, those guys got offered by an elite baseball school, ALL played for a college World Series, and still played high school football. Did not get injured. The ones that have quit football always got injured or simply quit playing baseball. Nothing against Murray, it's a great college, but those guys played at an elite level and playing pro baseball. One is a pitcher in the MLB, "big boy" baseball, and never got injured. Again, wish nothing but the best for the kid. I hope he does well, but with my experience with this. I'm willing to bet the kids decision is not 100% his.
  24. Wish nothing but the best for the kid. But 90% of the time some baseball coach told him he would be better off not playing football. Those guys above were told that too, but they didn't listen cause their college coach at UL encouraged them to play high school football. UL coached loved football players cause they can play hurt and overcome adversity. These are not my words. These are the words from a very successful college baseball coach. Again wish nothing but the best for the kid. I just hope it was 100% his decision.
  25. Bad decision. I've got 6 reasons why he shouldn't quit football. 1. Justin Marks- Reliver for Dodgers played on Owensboro Catholic 2005 team 2. Neal Holland Reliver in Triple A for Nationals. 3. Stewart Ijames- 2005 football team. Double A for the As 4. Cole Sturgeon- Double A for Red Sox 5. Ray Zuberer- WKU 6. Madden Richardsen- WKU. Football never affected any of these guys, yet the all played college ball at UL except Zuberer and Richardsen WKU as to which they are playing for now. Unfortunately someone from the baseball world is going to ruin his career. It's a shame and travel baseball is a scam.
