Best running back in region 4 class AAA...
Grim had a 25 yarder called back because of a penalty that would have given him over 300 yards. You'll not hear anything out of GIAT because now it appears that GIAE.

You would have thought that since he is an experienced sanitation professional he would have hung around long enough to give us novices a pointer or two.:irked:

He might have been very close to negative yards on the night. He was downed several times deep inside the line of scrimmage.

Best running back in region 4 class AAA...
I dont know the exact stats for either back tonight but I was trying to keep a mental track. I'm going to guess that Grim had close to 300 yards while I am wondering if Thomas had positive yards at all tonight. He was downed deep in the backfield several times. I wouldn't be surprised to see him with negative yards for the game. Maybe someone that listened to a radio broadcast can give us exact numbers.

Johnson Central vs. Ashland part 2
Seems as if Barrett was kicking much better in the first few games of the season as far as depth of his kicks and his PAT accuracy. I think that both aspects suffered while he was playing soccer similtaneously with football. He is nowhere nearly as deep or accurate as he was early.

Johnson Central vs. Ashland part 2
Yeah lets see how high the road is if Ashland were to win the game. You wont be able to type a word in edgewise with our friendly neighbors to the north. Cant you figure out that this is a calculated strategy? I think that it's more like people that dont even reside in our area and have never seen any of our teams play that are looking for and provoking the fight.

Johnson Central vs. Ashland part 2
Oldrambler , you can talk till your blue in the face to westsider. If Raceland was to have beaten Trinity you still would not get any respect. Some way or another he would try to come up with some logic that Raceland was still unworthy of any ranking. He seems to really get off on this stuff. Now you know it feels to be "westsided". As I said in a thread the other day, the best thing for anyone to do is to completely ignore anything that he posts, because it will be 100% negative against anything and anybody that lie east of I-75. Want to bet that he has not seen Raceland play this year, or bet that he at no time in his life ever seen Raceland play period? I would almost guarantee that he has never, ever at one point seen Johnson Central play at any sport as well. Yet he is still the all knowing expert. Some you guys need to learn the mentality that you are dealing with, in respect to how he feels about us eastern folk and his superiority complex concerning our knowledge of anything, and just plain ignore him and go on.

There is not a chance that you will see any self respecting Ashland poster on here today. Today is popcorn box and coke bottle day at Putnum. The Pied-Dickster and his devoted clonies are busy busy busy today making that field beautiful , all for you and me.

Ashland @ Johnson Central
You should not take anything that westsider says personally Dino. He is not only against Johnson Central, he is totally against anybody and everybody (in all sports) that falls east of I-75. Take the time to research his posts and you will see what I am talking about. He is one poster that I have totaly learned to tune out. He is a self proclaimed expert on anything and everything, although I doubt that he has ever traveled past I-75 to watch the first sporting event of any kind.

Ashland @ Johnson Central
Historicaly these are the type of games that Ashland has a way of rising to the occasion on. I remember back in 1975 when I was a member of the Johnson Central basketball team. We were ranked #7 in the state and had gone undefeated at home. The last regular season game of the year was against Ashland at home. Ashland had a decent team that year , but was nowhere nearly as talented as Johnson Central. Ashland pulled off the upset of the Golden Eagles on their home floor that night by playing inspired basketball. The after game celebration in the Ashland locker room is something that I can still remember clearly to this day. They flat came ready to play. I take the absence of Ashland posters on this thread as a meaning of an all out business aproach to friday's game. Maybe it might be best for JC posters , fans , and players to just let what happens next friday night do the talking. I really feel this is the Tomcat approach to this game. I really doubt that you will see many Ashland fans post in this thread this year. Last year Johnson Central was the rising unknown. This year Johnson Central is the perceived favorite by most. Ashland has a way of being able to thrive when tagged with the underdog role. I think that Matney will have his team fully focused for this game because I think he very well knows the situation that I am talking about. Ashland is a definate threat in this game and Johnson Central is ripe for the taking if they do not come out just as inspired to play as Ashland does next friday night.

Best pitchers in the 13th 2007????
When you talk about comparing 75 to 90 , yeah I will agree. I wasn't meaning to go to the extreme of 75. I was meaning that pitcher that might throw in the low to mid 80's. I guess I should have went a little further in detail. Although I did see Kenny Rogers throwing in that low to mid 80's range yesterday against the A's and he was fabulous.

Best pitchers in the 13th 2007????
Velocity can be the most over-rated aspect of pitching Whitey. Kentucky's ace last year, Dombrowski only throws in the 81 to 83 range. Two years ago UK's pitching coach Henderson told me that velocity is the number three thing that he looks for in a pitcher. The first being the ability to throw strikes. The second thing being ball movement. Coach Shelton at Cumberland almost echoed word for word the thoughts of Henderson in talking to him, although Cumberland does have a multitude of 90 MPH pitchers on staff this year, so dont think for a moment that DI schools have a monopoly on guys that can hit 90+. Unfortunately there are a lot college coaches that use a radar gun to determine if a kid is a pitcher or not. There is a reason why their position is called pitcher, not thrower. Of course I'm not going to be foolish enough to say that the ability to throw smoke as well as having the other atributes is not a major plus, but in the big scheme of things it doesn't mean everything. Greg Maddux has done just fine topping out at 84-85.

Best pitchers in the 13th 2007????
As you well know STRIKE, the notion that D1 is a higher grade of baseball than DII, DIII, or NAIA is sometimes nothing more than a falsehood. There are a lot of DII,DIII, and NAIA schools than can put it all over a lot of DI schools. Last year in Kentucky Cumberland, Union, and Campbellsville all might have fell right in line behind the University of Kentucky as far as the best college teams in the state regardless of class. In many years Cumberland,Tennessee (NAIA) is thought to be the best team in the state of Tennessee, often surpassing UT and Vandy. Central Missouri State(DII), two years ago had 5 pitchers drafted in the top 10 rounds. Three years ago University of the Cumberlands(NAIA) beat Morehead State and then two years ago had the University of Kentucky (with Dombrowski as the starter) down 10-4 going into the bottom of the 9th, before falling apart in the bottom of the 9th and losing on a walkoff HR . Last year perennial DIII power Marietta College had two pitchers drafted, one in the 7th round. College baseball is much much different than football and basketball when determining caliber superiority because of the limited amount of scholarships that DI schools have to offer. Kids should be aware that the words DI is very offen not a determining factor in the quality of talent compared to some of the other divisions and should not be so hung up on the DI label when they are searching for a place to play. They should look for the best fits academically first and then see if that particular school is a good fit athleticly. I just think there are two many good players that get themselves in bad situations because of a false perception of what DI actually is.. As far as high schoolers being able to hit the 90 mark, I could count on two or three fingers of the kids that I have gunned over the last 10 years that have been able to hit 90, so you are very correct in your statement. They are as rare as hen's teeth.
