Normally the game is played on thursday if one of the schools has no school on friday.But KHSAA is showing this game as scheduled for friday.

It seems like there is always at least one mountain game on Thursday nights during the season. Does that mean the mountain districts randomly close on Friday's in the fall. In all honesty, Thursday night games are pretty nice. You can watch a couple games per weekend.

The game was requested for Thursday by Paintsville, possibly to scout the Pikeville-Hazard game. Raiders played best game of season, controlled the ball most of the game, gave up the 95 yard drive for Paintsvilles score, other than that Paintsville offense was held in check. If I recollect correctly, SF was inside the Paintsville 30 at least 6 occasions, but unable to stick it in the end zone. Rough season for the very young Raiders and Coach Daniels, lots of issues other than football weighing on the coach, good job guys, there are better days ahead. Hang in there Donnie, we are behind you!

No Offense to paintsville but if thats true then they should get themselves together before scouting Hazard And Pikeville. South Floyd is Still a required win to get a good seed in playoffs

After South Floyd's loss to Allen Central, I did not expect this game to be close.

 

I predicted that the Paintsville program would decline after Johnson Central hired Jim Matney, but it is sad to see the Tigers fall on such hard times so quickly. I hope that Paintsville fans will show some patience with the current coaching staff. It is not easy for a team to deal with three coaches in three seasons and if I recall correctly, Coach Lemaster won only one or two games in his first season.

 

I feel bad for the Paintsville players who currently live (or lived) in the Johnson County school district and transferred to Paintsville when Johnson Central's football program looked so hopeless a few years ago. Unlike many people, I believe that those players made the right decision at the time and I would have done exactly the same thing had I been in their shoes (or their parents' shoes). The grass not only looke greener on the other side of the creek a few years ago, it was in fact greener.

 

Good luck to Paintsville next week and in the playoffs. You have some talented players and things will get better if your fans and parents continue to support the team as they have in the past. It would be nice to see more Paintsville BGP members here online encouraging the team each week. I would like to see both Johnson County schools field strong football teams in the coming years, and the Tigers need better fan support for that to happen.

SF played the possession game...they held the ball the ENTIRE third quarter on one drive...but failed to score...Paintsville only ran 13 plays in the first half...not sure how many in the second, but I'm sure it was less than that...
