Unfortunately, that is usually the problem. There's a reason certain programs are always toward the top and a reason that certain programs are consistently at the bottom. There are a lot of key elements that a coach cannot control when it comes to a commitment to winning.

Anyone familiar with this program? Where does it stand compared to it's district opponents?

He will still do his seminars, not sure about the onsite stuff. :confused:

I think the artificial fields are a "god send" for the HS programs in Kentucky. From what I've seen, they are starting to pop up all over the state. Can anyone provide information on how they are paid for? Does the BOE in each system pay for these? How much is donated? Is it a combination? I know that the price ranges from at least 500,000 and up? Shows a great commitment to the youth in each area. Just curious... :thumb:

Actually, that interception was about a 15 yard out. That's what they do, they throw the ball, had nothing to do with anything else. He doesn't need to pad Burke's stats, they speak loud and clear as is...

Bill Mike is the MAN. As hardcore a coach as there is in Kentucky. Some people seemed surprised of his great success this year, but..I've always said, BMR has ALWAYS been a football coach that coaches basketball!! HA... BMR when or if he ever steps down from coaching should and will be considered a legend. His success, and involvement in HS athletics is unique. What a competitor... :banana:

No brainer, Justin Burke...Not taking anything away from any other player... You just do not see head coaches allowing HS QB's to "take the game into your hands" in crucial situations like Sphire allows Burke to do. The kid is incredible. The kid is going to be outstanding in college. With the Pro style QB coach (49ers) he will have at NC State do not be surprised to see him play on Sundays. He can be every bit as good as Alex Smith.

Take pressure off of coaches?

Who says it's not broke? All I'm hearing is Private schools are winning everything; the same schools win every year; not enough athletes get are getting signed; why is it crazy? I don't think the kids would think that it's crazy. The numbers change as the classes broaden. I think it would be awesome. Look at boxing...look how many champions there are...yeah the heavyweights and middle weights get most of the attention but it's common sense, it's a weight thing. Football is a numbers thing. Guarantee participation would go up, football would become much bigger. :ylsuper:

Ok, tell us why it is wrong. More championships, more proud communities, more student athletes involved, more money for whoever, football becomes more popular maybe?

The comparison point is that half of the eight classes in Florida are in the mid thirties and it is just as exciting. The more teams in the playoffs the better. That is for the kids. That cannot be denied. During the first round, a kid from phelps is just as important as a kid from ST. X. (Just an example) Did you ever think that if Ohio and Penn. had spring ball they would have even more recruits? : ex. three counties in southern florida have over 300 signees a year. Over 500 throughout the state. There is no doubt that has something to do with coaches being able to "Discover" up and coming talent during spring drills. It makes a big difference. Kentucky my not have that many but it would have to increase it greatly. And, not to mention it would make the average football player in KY better. The more practice the better. There are great coaches in Kentucky.

The only heat that koog should/will feel is what he puts on himself. Getting the opportunity to see how they do things behind closed doors was an eye opener. I have never seen a single coach prepare his team so thoroughly AND relay it to the kids. His players are like coaches when it comes to their opponents. Sounds like they had a bad half/sheldon clark played hard. Two good teams, someone's going to win and someone's going to lose. It sounds like Hagar is doing a fantastic job at Sheldon Clark. I bet this is a huge game for him personally this week. Facing his former coach. Tim did a great job. My hat's off to him.

i was shocked at the outcome of this game. You have to give credit to Sheldon Clark. They are legit to beat Leslie at leslie. Huge win, bitter defeat.

I'm not familiar with Metcalfe Co.'s program. Could someone educate me on their history, the coach, the team. Seems like a quick rise to thrash a team such as Murray.
