We played both of these really good teams early in the season. BG hadn't settled on their QB yet. Ireally like both teams, and think this may be the best game of the weekend. I got to go with BG because of the defense, and I believe, a more than adequate Offense. I won't be surprised by a LC victory though.

One thing I could never understand about some of the publics is why they choose to NOT platoon, but play so many of theur players both ways. I know that in some cases it's a must, but look at the numbers Male and Manual dressed, but still had so many playing both ways. It would seem to me that if I played more kids, they might improve, and give a rest to the others. I know not every school has this luxury, but I do think it is an option that not enough use.

Except that in basketball, X and T have 1400 boys to choose from for their teams, and still can't win the state!

The bad news is that the gates will open at 6:30 for the 7:30 kickoff. So 20,000 plus will cram in the stadium in a very short time. Great Call KHSAA!

I really like this Tiger Team. Tigers by about 10-14.

My experience tells me that Makers Mark does in fact tend to warm things up, and get you thru the night.

My only comment is that a semifinal game should not be determined by the condition of a playing surface. Too much is at stake.

I'm almost afraid to get into this discussion. Lexington lately just hasn't produced strong teams, but everyone seems to think this HC team is so good. It looks like a good game. If HC can put pressure on Petrino, I think they have a shot, because I'm just not sure he throws that well on the run. The cold may be a factor. In one to the wire, I have to go with the Homefield advantage.

How many does WC play both ways? What size lines?

I thought the Coach should go for two. He and his team came to win. I also think he didn't feel he could win in OT. A great game ending in great fashion. In 1999, X was down 3 in OT with 4th and 1, went for the W and got it. Won the State.

I understand that WC won't give up the home field advantage, but BG wants the DH.

Wow! What a game! I agreed with JH going for 2. I spoke with someone on the JH staff who said there was never any doubt about the 2, plus they felt the team was gassed, and wouldn't win in an OT. An X coach told me someone got a hand on the ball and slightly deflected it. Great effort by JH, and a great facility, but: 1) The announcer has to go. KHSAA rules are that he's supposed to be neutral, not a cheerleader. 2) There was a dangerous situation near the restrooms and concession stand because of the crowding, pushing, etc. It needs to be reconfigurred.

Having seen and played them both, I go with LexCath because of Burke.

Call me crazy, but I think the Tigers come out tonight in precision form to win. Everyone is back, and I think we showed Manual just enough to win last time. Manual has had to show everything X,Male, Meade) to get this far.

I like theTigers again in this one. Two things about the first win: 1) Vic didn't play which allowed Manual to concentrate on Mattingly, and 2) X didn't show a whole lot in the game, maybe because Vic was out. Coach Glaser even commented on his show that we should have openned up a little more. X does not overlook Manual, who gave them all they wanted the first time around.

Here's hoping that saner minds meet this afternoon and defeat this measure and give everybody some more time to work things out. I would think that the proposal to not allow non state students to participate would have gone a long way.

I agree> Maybe the KHSAA can buy "participation" trophies for all of the ADs to put in their trophy cases to make them feel better, like TeeBall.
