I agree. What happens if they don't pan out in HS, or have an injury? Do you then embarassingly pull the offer?

A friend of mine who played with Alexander at Flaget confirmed that indeed it was him. He was a great athlete for the Braves.

When I was at X he was always rumorred to be 20 then. He was a little ahead of me. Maybe that was the excuse we always had because no one could catch him!

Was the Sonny Alexander in the obits this morning the same Sonny Alexander who was an outstanding fb and track guy at Flaget? He was listed as 70, but was always rumorred to be older while at Flaget.

In a 54 point loss, a day of conditioning did not cause the loss. The reality is that there is simply not that many D 1 players in Ky any more.

If you dislike the school so much, why don't you just turn in your diploma?

I think the old rivalry was too much to overcome. plus I don't think x took the necessary steps to woo the old Flget alumni. There is a Flaget museum at X now. Too little, too late. One of the Lehmanns is in the CFL Hall of Fame!

Has nothing to do with private v. public. I will generally pull for a JCPS when playing out of county teams. I have had friends coach in JCPS. I just am not enamorred with PRP baseball. Good kids, I am sure, by the way. Nothing would lead me to think otherwise.

Wasn't a fan of Miller when I played against him. Nothing has changed. He needs to look at the strength of the 6th Region year in and year out before commenting on anything.

Where do you put Roger Gruneisen? Roger and I grew up together. His older brothers had gone to X, and his Mother worked in the cafeteria there. He actually was the first "star" I remember going to T. A great athlete, but I am not sure he ever really reached his full potential. I remember him telling me he had 4 different head coaches in 4 years at T. He had Quire,Gering, Miller, and Kennedy, I believe, in that order.

Mental errors can beat you the same as physical ones. Logan County played a great game, just couldn't hold on.

This is like the X thread. There are so many possibilities over a long span. Isaw and know Alan Hennessey. He was the first true "star" at T, and is probably most responsible as a player in turning the program into a new direction. Probably Brian Brohm and James Quick are my other choices, but I am leaving out several names listed above, and others, that can be substituted with no argument from me.

Dan was excellent. Had a nose for the ball. A smart player and frankly, just a great kid. I also think it is easier by the decade for certain schools. the list above for recent players is a good one, but those guys aren't top 3 in the history of the school. I liked Bernard, but he never achieved after X, starting just his senior year at UT i Believe.

I don't know anything about Logan County except that they player a whale of a game today. Sometimes it is just not meant to be. Shut down a solid X batting order the whole game. The X pitcher pitched a great game also and can't be overlooked. Heads up bseball by Clemmons and his Coach to be aggressive and score the 2nd run. Maybe the tough schedule helps you get prepared for this kind of game. PRP should be another good game Thursday. Go Tigers!

Unbelievable finish! Logan county pitcher had a no hitter for 7 2/3 innings. Clemons gets X only hit and scores from 2nd on a heads up play on a Logan County error, and the defense falling asleep.

Certainly some good players recently, but they might not be on the level of some older guys like Dicky Lyons, Mo Moorman (KC Chiefs), Bob Talamini (NFL), Will Wolford (NFL), Sam Gruneisen (AFL/NFL) etc. Just picking 3 is next to impossible. I know myself that I am omitting several more All American or NFL players,
